The headphones on the other hand for 7.50 are a steal. I was surprised by both the sound and the incredible range these had.
For anyone not happy with the bass response of the headphones: I snagged a pair of them last night, but was disappointed of the low freq response, so I disassembled them with the idea of cannibalizing the 40MM drivers from a broken pair of Sennheisers that I have laying around. Luckily though, they have the same elements (or very similar) I have ordered from parts express previously for another project and I knew there are a few tricks to make them sound better. Disassembly is as simple as it gets - pull the earpad cushions, and the plastic piece they are attached to, out (no screws or clips, only friction holds them). After that you will see 4 screws on each earpiece - unscrew and and pull out (carefully, as there are wires attached). Look at the back of the driver and you will see circular paper backing. There are holes underneath it. Go ahead and pierce them with something, just be careful not to pierce the driver membrane as it is directly underneath these holes. Clean the paper around the holes. I don't know if it makes any difference, but I've put some polyfill in the assembly to hopefully get a fuller sound. Put everything back together. In my opinion the difference is amazing - from almost no bass at all, they turned into pretty nicely balanced headphones. They won't be winning any bass competitions, but I think it's an easy thing to do for no money and 15 minutes of your time.
Something to consider - this mod would let more of your music bleed out, so if you listen to music around a lot of people in a quiet environment, this may not be the best solution for. Especially if you don't want them to know that you're secretly listening to Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift.
Here's craigs page on it. Note this deal is for the CHT921 model, not the 923. The 923 has a small display and an FM radio but is otherwise identical. This does NOT have optical or SPDIF in, but it does have bluetooth.
