When this came out, it could burn anything, including the M-Disc; thus the "Super Multi" name.
Good deal on a cheap burner.
I need a cheap burner with with Lightscribe, which this does not have, so I'm going to wait.

I've burned over 200 discs in the last month, what's your point?
My point is that it's a near-dead technology - as evidenced by the limited non-troll activity this thread is seeing. If you still have a use for coasters, knock yourself out.
Short of burning audio CDs for outdated car stereos that don't support flash/usb/bluetooth, I can't imagine why someone would burn something nowadays. I'm 36, I owned one of the very first external CD writers - an NEC, I got extensive use out of burners, but it just seems they have gone the way of VHS in a hurry. Yes, I'm curious as hell as to why anyone would burn 200 discs in a month for any sort of legitimate purpose.
