I finally got mine and though I'm still learning Win 8, so far I like it. Very innovative design. Love the stand and though I was kicking myself for buying the keyboard as well, now I'm glad I did. It works great, doubles as one of those sleep covers, and simply makes using it so much easier. Much better than having to deal with a separate Bluetooth keyboard like I have for my old ipad - that one I can never find when I want it, or its dead and has to be recharged.

So great deal and repped (I got the bundle: the Surface for $169 and the keyboard for $40).

I thought this was just the beginning of a massive clearance but I haven't seen the deal since. Glad I got it for $169 and repped you for making me think twice about returning it. It was mostly Windows 8, not the tablet itself, great hardware for the price. Since then I've learned to like it a whole lot! It's my hip HTPC media center hub now. Also got that $60 Kindle Fire HD on the way so I'll have to share my big screen between the two. Primo stuff! Big Grin
I have a chromebook too, and I reach for the SRT a lot more. I think I use it more than I did my Transformer as well.

It is not the fastest machine out there but I do love the RT since the HW is solid and the interfaces is good. Plus it has MS office loaded in....

Just saw this today....there might be a second wind for this machine since MS is working on combining the phone platform with the tablet.

Wasn't able to get the touch keyboard at the tine of purchase, I contacted them twice to try and get it for the bundled price of $39.99, they swiftly replied "no". So I left them a negative feedback and got an email from a representative who was more than happy to see what they could do to fix the problem. Got it for $39.99 and he shipped it Next Day Guarantee.

Kind of a d*ck move, no? Because you missed out, you hold them hostage with negative feedback?

This has actually been mentioned over and over in the threads whenever people would bitch about this being a dead OS. Nobody ever cared to listen. MS has said this in a roundabout way for a but now talking about only supporting two OS's and how the two platforms continue to share more code with each update.

Considering their apathetic response and unwillingness to rectify my problem, I believe my feedback was warranted. First negative feedback I have ever left in fourteen years of Ebaying, even after being sold counterfeit goods on a few occasions. Hope that eases the swelling, thanks.

I mentioned that in another thread because with ADHD I'm off topic 99% of the time. I'm glad to see it getting along with my Lumia 521. Invested in the xbox also so hope for a tighter patch.
After a week I barely use my Nexus 7 1st gen but don't want to part with it, can't replace it for what I paid ($59) and I have a nice dock w/audio out for it.

I got the Patch Tuesday updates but I'm still wondering how people got things to work. I read the RT FAQ and it said remote desktop won't work. I got it tow work with an invitation to my laptop but not the other way around yet. I didn't get far with the xbox 360 either, wishful thinking all of this would work easily.

I also ordered a dual band router cuz the net is sorta slow, hoping the 5Ghz band peps things up. I tried a USB to ethernet dongle with no success despite what an amazon user said. Anyway, like you say it's no speed demon but a good time anyway. Hot Damn! just got my directv to work...mirrored on my new Kindle app. Solved that problem with a $60 Kindle Fire HD refurb, even the audio works over HDMI and over a switch. I think I'm done shopping for awhile Smilie

Frustrating, Bluetooth has been spotty and some other things but I bought mostly on price point, need more updates like the WP8.1/RT platform.

http://www.dailytech.com/Windows+...e34316.htm - Microsoft appears to be leaning towards the name Windows Phone RT. While developers suggest the build does not appear to be the full rumored replacement/unification of Windows RT with Windows Phone's source, its name hints that it is a big step in that direction.

oops, got all excited for nothing. But I'm still jazzed about the future of RT.

There are those that have said Microsoft will abandon Windows RT completely, but I don't believe that's the case. I believe it will only be extended, enhanced, and improved and eventually come to be known as: Windows 9. http://windowsitpro.com/windows/w...-windows-9
Like Chromebooks, the browser is the focus. Legacy programs will morph into a cloud based app.

So far this is a great tablet. But one thing which really annoys me is the Netflix app. We're a big netflix family yet their app doesn't have that very convenient button that goes 10 seconds back. That's perfect for when you just missed something important. Not a major deal, but since we use Netflix instead of cable, we use this button probably multiple times a day.

Also the subtitles often get stuck. Never had that issue with the ipad app.
