Hi all,
I was on the lookout for a decent projector, and just placed an order for BenQ W1070 3D projector from frys.com for 779$ shipped.
Their website seems to be behaving oddly, and you may have to call them at 1-408-350-1484 to place the order via phone. Also, walmart.com was willing to do a price match, but they were charging me tax extra, so I went with frys.com.

http://www.frys.com/product/75338...IN_RSLT_PG

Amazon has this item listed for 875$ (http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-W1070-...benq+w1070).

The lowest it went was for $749 a month or so ago from amazon.

Cheers !

You guys might want to check out this projector.

Its cheaper has equal performance to the W1070, and has a better warranty. After deciding between this projector, and the W1080st. The Viewsonic won, it does have a short throw lens even though it is not mentioned. Im less then 10 feet away from the wall with a 100" screen. The 3-d through my samsung blue ray looks amazing so far on what I tried. The HD from my cable company is excellent too, the images are crisp and sharp.

Ooh man its been so long since I purchased it like 6 years ago. I know its a grey wolf screen with manual pull down, its a little over 100". Let me see if I can find more info, and ill let you know. With that distance you will have no problem getting between a 100"-130" screen.

This looks like it. Seems like its been discontinued.

It sounds interesting, Do you have pictures of your screen?

Here's the poor man's screen I use in my small bedroom with the w1070:

Two 10' wooden rods from Lowe's, and
This 120"x70" tablecloth in both black and white (they were less than $10 when I bought them): http://www.amazon.com/LinenTablec...hite+linen

Took a staple gun to the tablecloth and the wooden rods. The screen rests on two hooks into my wall, but I can pull it down and roll it up like a scroll whenever I want.

The quality, to me, is very good. Great 139" screen for about $35 that can be rolled/unrolled with convenience. Videophiles will call blasphemy, I'm sure, but I've yet to receive a complaint from anyone. bounce

No issues with the projector, either.
