sealy starts sagging in the middle(Stearns & Foster ame company)
from a review
business partner has 3 Sealy mattresses that are over 20 years old each and he loves them. For that reason, I decided to buy a Sealy Posturepedic. Thank goodness I bought it at Costco !
Within 1 month, the mattress was sagging so bad, my girlfriend and I would roll to the middle. My back and hip started hurting for the first time in my life. I purchassed a 3" memory foam pad for $200.00 to place on top of it. That stopped the pain but the sagging continued to get worse. Within 3 months my girlfriend started sleeping on the couch, and I slept in the middle of the trough (bed).
The mattress was worse than the 18 year old king I gave away when I bought it. Thank goodness Costco has a 100% satisfaction policy and they came and picked it up for free and refunded my money.
I will never again own a Sealy. How could such a prominent and reputable company start manufacturing such complete junk. Sealy had better go back to their previous manufacturing methods or I am afraid they will perish as a company.
In short, don't waste your money on a Sealy. They are making no flip junk that will give you miserable, painful, sleepless nightss.
I don't know if this is nation-wide. But I got this same one at the store last week and it's ALSO on sale. It was $479.99 for the whole queen set- So Mattress + Box spring!
Originally I saw this on the website too but then I wanted to see if it's at the store then we could maybe try it out first (i.e. if they lay it flat). Surprisingly, it's at the store for a lower price ($10 less) AND it also includes the box spring. Well, we don't really need the box spring but we figure it's cheaper and we can try to sell the box spring, so we got the set at the store. If you don't mind trucking the mattress by yourself (if you buy it online you get free delivery but they won't haul your old mattress unless you pay $80) AND you need the box spring, definitely get the store one. BTW, they do sell the whole set online but I believe it's $100 more than the store.
So about the mattress itself, I've had it for a week and I love it. My backache is gone . I like the firm but not extreme firm top (cuz I think the top layer is gel memory foam). Of course I cannot say how durable it is, but I hope it will last. Also the good thing is they did lay it flat at the store (just for that one set that is NOT PILE WAY UP THERE) so I could try before I bought them. What a good buy!
If you buy it from CostCo and are not satisfied with it you can return it (for 3 years, I believe; please correct if this is not true). Of course, it could start sagging after 5 year and that would be less performance than one expects from a mattress.
Ok I looked at models number you are all correct. One online is mattress only and different scu, also $10 more. One in store comes with box spring and $10 less. Wonder if quality is different on in store model. I dislike pillow tops this i know try make bed with one. Firm is what I want
I have also had bad experience w very expensive Sealy. It was like the fancy 25th anniversary came with special stitching, logo, etc....3 years and it started sagging in the middle I tossed when I moved. $1800 Sealy, never again.
Guys how does this latex mattress compare? I hear good things about this.
