Check this website: LINK [costcocouple.com]

TV Display Technology LED
Resolution 4K Ultra HD
Refresh Rate 240 Hz
3D (Y/N) Yes
Smart TV Yes
Total HDMI Ports 4

I went to my local Costco and indeed they are selling this 4k UHDTV @ only 2999.99. Note that the tax is on pre-discounted price.

Let's do some calculations:
3799.99 * 1.0875 (Nor Cal Tax) = 4132.49

4132.49 - 800 (mfr rebate) = 3332.49

3332.49 * 0.98 (executive member cash back 2%) * 0.98 (AMEX cashback 2% - everyday blue) = 3200.52

So you can have a 65" Toshiba UHDTV for only $3200.52 out of door. Other places like BB and Fry's are charging $4500 pretax. And this model sports 240Hz refreshing rate, faster than similar Sony UHDTV.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

How are the reviews on this TV, is it any good compared to Sony, Samsung, LG or Sharp?

Toshiba seems to be an off brand.

There isn't any 4K content available. What are we going to use this TV for? To my knowledge Sony has 4K camcorders other than that there's isn't much to playback. Waste of money IMO.

They are good quality though. Samsung owners always complemented me on how good my tv's looked.

I now have a 650 series sharp and still think my older toshiba looked just as good.

Toshiba is not an off brand, but since your avatar looks good I'll give you some slack.

Here's a related but less relevant question, why is tax charged before a discount is applied? it seems like that is an appraised tax vs a sales tax (from my not - an - accountant perspective).

because the sales price is in the full amount but there is a 800 MIR. Edit it isn't mail in its instant, but maybe its something with it being the manufacturer vs store? IDK, does seem a bit weird.

You know how the tax is colected on contracted phones right? On the full retail price rather than the contract price. I guess here it's the same thing.

Actually, Toshiba is considered to be an off-brand nowadays. 99% of Toshiba televisions sold in stores today are NOT manufactured by Toshiba themselves, but they are outsourced and manufactured by Compal Electronics, a Taiwanese OEM maker for Toshiba. If you recently purchased a Toshiba 1080p LED TV, it was made by Compal.

The 1% is this L9300U 4K here, and this is the only TV made by Toshiba themselves (or maybe it's their last; they already closed their TV plant in Dalian, China last month). Toshiba is famously known for its unpredictable production methods.

Good deal but I learned my lesson. 3 LED's in my house each over 3k a piece....I'm holding off for a 70" under 2k...which will be 2015...

hi
I connected laptop to 60" 1080p hdtv 120 hz. tried hulu and nbc sports live. video quality was bad. quality of the cable tv and roku videos is amaizing. I assume video from laptop is bad because of the size of the screen. will this 4k thing solve this problem?
thanks

The main question is, Can it do 4K @ at least 60hz? 120 would be awesome
