Side by side comparison of ON's Performance Whey (left), vs the new Performance Whey 100% Isolate (right): http://i.imgur.com/DJuxY.jpg
(100% Gold standard is a mix of concentrate and isolate.)
This is for pure isolate only.

"Protein isolates. This is the next step up in purification from simple whey concentrates; the protein is purified again using more filtration or a technique called ion-exchange or cross-flow microfiltration. Protein isolates have very low levels of carbohydrates and fat and are almost exclusively pure protein. People with lactose intolerance usually don’t have trouble with whey protein isolates. Many companies that make whey protein isolates certify that their product is lactose free or they will even add lactase which is an enzyme that breaks down lactose to the protein powder to help with digestion.

proteins found in Isolates are broken down into smaller pieces to allow it to get in your system more rapidly with the belief it will help enable your muscles to start rebuilding quicker.
The primary difference between isolate and concentrate is that the isolate is the most purest form of protein. Whey isolate usually contains between 90-94% protein while whey concentrate has a protein ratio of around 70-85%. "

Ultra mega awesome deal, top-notch quality with zero fillers and NO amino acids to "fluff" the protein listed in the nutrition facts. Not sure why this isn't getting thumbs up. This is 10x more of a deal than the deal for Phase8.

I know it couldn't have been bodybuilding.com, there is no way the consensus there was for the natural.

There is zero benefit to the natural unless you are one of the extremely rare few with allergies to one of the artificial sweeteners or flavoring agents. Despite what some might claim, allergies to such things are ultra rare.

The natural line from ON is widely dismissed on the bb.com forums for this reason. It's overpriced, provides no additional benefits to most people and tastes horrible.
As far as I can see on a couple of places, the Natural and non-Natural are the same price.

Being one that prefers to avoid artificial sweeteners, I've been looking at buying the Natural. That said, all I've used thus far is Dymatize ISO 100 Gourmet Vanilla which was very tasty and Nature's Best Isopure Dutch Chocolate and Vanilla. Both of which were meh tasting. Both brands have sucralose but I was eying moving away from that as I'd rather avoid it more out of preference than anything.

That said, if the Natural tastes like crap I may have to rethink that.

I haven't been on the site in a while. Good to see you still debunking supplementation myths.
I'm not around much either. But when I am...

Great tasting protein and mixes very well. I won't get into the debate on the differences between whey isolate, whey non-isolate and any other variations of protein. For your average person, this is more than enough. Also 30g of protein per 37g serving is great - 80% protein per serving is better than most.

Quite liked it, goes easy on my stomach compared to the regular whey concentrates i've been having, will pick up a second one to stock up

Thanks for posting this.

Just tried it yesterday afternoon. Slightly sweeter than ON Gold Standard Natural Whey Vanilla, but tastes good and mixed well. I'll be picking up one or two more.

Odd that both ON vanillas foam up in the shaker cup but ON double chocolate doesn't.

Is this discount only at select Costco locations? I visited my local Costco today and it was listed at $50.

The Isolate is particularly useful in the morning time as it will be available more quickly as you end your sleep fast.

Vanilla is not too sweet, it reminds me of angel food cake. The cookies n Cream from MP is far sweeter, I like both brands to be honest. I find that my smoothies come out extra creamy with this powder. Mixes extremely well in water or almond milk (my favorite).

I mix a scoop of Amazing Grass Superfoods into the blender bottle with this ON isolate and it creates what I like to think of my Incredible Hulk Drink Wink Its great post workout or breakfast time.
What all do u put in ur smoothie if u don't mins sharing, thanks

Deals still active. Picked up vanilla from my Costco yesterday for $39.99 !! No coupon needed....it just rings up at register at $39.99.

Had one shake and really like it. Protein profile looks really solid for price.

Thanks again for posting this. The deal expires around the 23rd, so I went back last weekend and picked up two more. They also had chocolate this time, but I stayed with vanilla to reduce my afternoon caffeine intake. Also, the chocolate has slightly less in the container. Vanilla is 4.5 lb, chocolate was less, 4.1lb IIRC.
