I don't know about namecheap (though I plan to transfer my domains there) - but I currently use Hawkhost for hosting. It's about $30 a year - lots of coupon codes on RMN, and you can pretty much host as many domains as you want, unlimited mailboxes, forwards, etc.
Edit: Wow, the hosting plans on Namecheap on that day will be pretty darned cheap! I think I'll buy hosting there as well.
Thanks. Hawkhost seems interesting. I will have to research them more.
You'll probably get the best deal if you have your domain names registered with one service and your domain hosting services/mail with a hosting company. Don't think people realize you can do that, but you can, and you'll likely save money doing that. The domain registrars just point your domain to whatever servers you host your site on. Many of the domain services have cheap domain registration, but expensive hosting services. And hosting services often charge more for domain registration than the companies that are strictly domain registrars.
Since you only need domain email services and not hosting, I'm not sure who to recommend. But I've been happy with namesilo.com for my domain registrar (cheap with free privacy guard all the time) and I get hosting and email services through hostmysite.com (good customer service, good uptime and good prices -- about $12/month in my case).
Thanks, I am currently on mydomain (registration) and hostlatte (hosting/email), but want to check with I can save by keeping it all in 1 place.

Did you ever make a Google Apps account? I just added a few of my domains to an OLD Google account that I had, so now I have a ton of email addresses on all of them, plus whatever catchalls I want, for free.
Are you saying that you add more than one domain on an old Google App (the one that was free until December, 2012) ? If so, can you elaborate how you did it because I was under the impression that it only allowed you one domain per account. Thanks in advance for your reply.
P.S.: I just figured it out. Under Settings > Extend and customize > Separate Domain. This is awesome, because as you said tons of accounts (and space! ) for free while having Google handling your email.
