Reformat/Restore Asus RT-N66w router

house kitten 6,899 January 30, 2014 at 07:35 AM More Best Buy Deals
I have a router that I have sold. I wish to clean up my SSID and PW, etc before selling it. Is this possible and if so how? Or is it as easy as once it is unplugged it will no longer have my info?

Unplugging won't help, You have a couple options.

1 - 30-30-30 reset should set it back to default settings.
2 - You should be able to login an reset it back to factory settings.
3 - Change your password/ssid manually. Tell the buyer what you changed it to.

If it was em I would probably do #2.

Vague questions receive vague answers . . . . . .
On the back of the router is a reset button. Hold it down for 10 seconds while the router is plugged in.

Login to the router, go to administration on the left side menu then the Restore/Save/Upload settings tab. The first button there is factory default - hit that and confirm. Let the router reboot and you're all set.
