Best Buy making all their MacBooks $100 off, and the 21.5" iMac $150 off! If you have a .edu email like I do, you get additional $50 off on any of the laptop versions! I know there has been better deals, but I have never seen them make a deal on all the MacBooks.

MAC BOOK LINK [bestbuy.com]

$50 OFF EDU [bestbuy.com]

If you don't have a EDU email, headhere [californiacolleges.edu]

Make a account there and you will have a edu. Make sure you hit college student. I think others will work, but I know the college student works.

STEPS: Go college link, and make the edu email.
Then go to the Best Buy college site and apply and the code will be sent to you.
Then buy on the Best Buy website look for MacBook you want, and apply the code and the extra $50 will be taken off.

They'll also probably price match the Apple Educational discount price. I've done this twice in the last few months. They price matched, but still accepted the coupon. Smilie

It looks like BB has cheaper prices or the same as apple education pricing for the lower end laptops. the low end macbook pro w/ retina is 1,200 at both.

That's why these are the highest reviewed laptops in the world.

Clueless.

Thank you for your carefully considered, well documented, and helpful contribution to this discussion. I'm sure I speak for all who read your words of wisdom in saying that we are all smarter consumers; nay, that we are better human beings for having partaken of your wisdom. You can leave and be proud.

I would buy a mac but need windows for work, I don't see the need to pay so much for an overpriced piece of hardware. Why pay 1000$ and be so bottled down and limited; besides the profit margin on a MBA is 30% more than what Samsung makes on their laptops, if they really wanted to sell these units at an affordable price they could. They're just hustling everyone and taking your money.

I'm cool with that. I don't think they make sense for everyone, and you're right, they do take a higher profit margin. And I think a post that intelligently discusses pros and cons is entirely appropriate. It's the host of posts from people who feel like people who don't make the same decisions they do are in some way insulting them, that essentially say, "macs suck" in every thread related to an Apple product, that grow tiresome.
