Chromecast Users: Sound skipping?

Calling on Chromecast users here.

Out of the blue one day a month or so ago I noticed that youtube videos streamed to chromecast on my TV had audio issues. No matter what video I was streaming and no matter how fast the internet connection, the audio will drop out for a couple of seconds about every 20 seconds or so. 20 seconds of audio, 2 seconds muted, rinse and repeat.

At first I thought this was just a youtube app problem until I tried to stream a netflix movie. The exact same thing is happening with netflix. This hasn't gotten better through any updates...

Is anyone having this issue as well? I tried googling it but couldn't find anyone with my specific problem.

I'd try a different TV to confirm but sounds like an issue with your device. Get in touch with support, might need to RMA.

have you tested local streaming (i.e. a local video file from a computer, played with chrome, and sent to the chromecast?)

Update: So I didn't have a lot of time last night to try several different options but I did quickly plug it into a different TV and stream a video without any issues. I then went back to my main living room TV and plugged it into a different HDMI port. No go. The video still streamed with pauses in sound constantly.

I'll have to try a third TV and maybe try plugging it in instead of using the TV's USB port but I can't for the life of me figure out why it would work fine on one TV but not on another, especially since it WAS working fine on my main TV for the first month of ownership...

Exact opposite. The main TV is right next to the router and the other one is in a guest room with a fairly weak signal.

I didn't have a chance to do anything last night but will try a third TV tonight...
