I beg to differ, the biggest smelting plant was shut down by the EPA. Ammo will now be imported with a high tariff. Get it cheap while you can👍
Where there is a market there will always be suppliers. To think that there is only one plant left that controls the entire supply of ammo to the US is just nuts. There will always be firearms and there will always be ammo suppliers. When you have a house full of ammo and no cash and you find out that in a few years the price is cut in half I guess you will learn the hard way like all the gold and silver hoarders. I think you should rethink your strategy. Ammo is ammo, it's made to fire and its not an investment like a retirement fund. Help your fellow shooters by not being "that guy".

Utter nonsense....

http://www.factcheck.org/2013/12/...n-control/

The plant shut down uses PRIMARY lead (the stuff from mines)

Most ammo uses RECYCLED lead. Which still has plenty of plants making it.

From the link-

The National Rifle Association says recycled lead “is the type most often used by ammunition manufacturers,” and the plant closing “should not have the dramatic impact that some have predicted.”

Lots more in the link- but the short version is no, ammo will NOT now "be imported with a large tarriff" due to that one plant, which wasn't a primary source of ammo in the first place, being shut down.

In fact, it shouldn't have any significant impact at all on ammo pricing or availability.

Been able to buy 5 boxes at local WM in the past 1 to 1.5 years and I look everytime I am there, which is weekly. None at Gander Mountain in that same time period. I live in the south, where there is a prevelance of "gonna take my guns away" belief and are hoarding up. On the bright side, I have found 2 people who hoarded up that are trying to sell their individual stashes. This will become more common.

The local gun shops and pawnshops that sell it are charging $30 for 100 box of cci.

I'm more interested in when all the extra guns people bought start hitting the used market.
Wow, I've been monitoring my local walmarts for nearly the past year for .22 LR stock every time I walk in. I've never, ever, seen anything .22.

Odd, even though people think the govmnt is buying bullets with the sole purpose of keeping citizens from getting any, and .22 LR is hard to find, Ive seen cans, if not boxes, of .223 at walmart. I am not sure why people think that the govmnt wants all the .22 LR there is. Do they equip agents with .22 guns? Do they equip the army with .22 guns? Just how many enforcement types are equiped with .22 guns? I doubt they even range practice with .22, I suspect they range practice with the product they are serviced with so they know what the recoil feals like in their hands.

Before it was 'boma buying up all the bulets, now its the US EPA is putting smelters out of business just to keep you from getting bullets, then why is .40 and .45 and .380 so commonly stocked in my walmarts? Why is .223 so often at my walmarts, a guage most commonly used for assuault purposes by the pros?

This whole thing is hysteria. Get your tin foil hats on.

Good deal if you are close by a cabelas, like me woooooooo...

I usually want to punch resellers in the face, but someone who resells ammo I would probably punch 3 or 4 times. You really have to be a sociopath to buy up all the and try to sell it back to me at 4x the cost. Heartless...

They will fulfill your order when the demand fades to the point that they make more money on your "bid" then they would if they just sold it outright on their site (in other words when your backorder price is higher then the current going price).
The weird thing is when I placed the order everything was shown as IN STOCK. That's what really tightens my jaws. Also the prices leading up to the hoarding the prices were higher so I would think after the supply comes back and the price drops it will be cheaper than my "backordered price". Watch me get screwed after waiting for over a year with higher than current market prices when it does ship considering I am locked in at that price of 12/12 or 1/13 when I placed several orders.

cause ppl are dumb and actually think they stand a chance against our military in an urban setting. in fact, the military would revolt, they have families too. but this is america and ppl have no sense of anything logical. so go buy 5000 .22 rounds and enjoy watching it rust while u wait for the end of days.

I absolutely agree, these ammo hoarders are just .... There will always be companies making ammo and these guys sit there and tell each other that when they find a box of .22 it is the last one they will ever see and that if they hold onto it long enough it will turn into gold!

Oh I'm right with you, my orders showed in stock also, until some time later they email you that it is in fact backorder. I know exactly what you mean when they push out the due date after the previous one just was reached. Its pretty obvious that they are just making the dates up. After two membership sign-ups and then subsequent cancellations after months of waiting on backorder I can say with confidence that the only part of SG that works effectively is their membership cancellation process.

BTW, if you signed up for their membership and haven't used it in the ensuing months you can still cancel it and get your member fees back. When you do that they will even try to keep the backorder on the books (but I told them both times where they could shove their backorder).

To me it's pretty darn simple.....don't sell sheet you don't have!
