Can some other owners comment on the screen quality please.

I like to believe that arm&hammer have a very high standart, otherwise this laptop is a no-go.

I was about to purchase an Asus which has very similar to this one, almost the same features. Asus has an IPS screen and $100 more expensive. I was very happy to find this Toshiba, which has very very similar specs and $100 cheaper but now the screen might be a deal breaker.

Asus owners talk about how great is the IPS screen and they never need to set the screen brightness to max. I am not expecting that much greatness. I can easily settle for less. I have no problems with setting the screen brightness to the max. I will not use it at the beach and I will very rarely will use it outdoors, if I ever will. My expectations are not that high.

However, still, if arm&hammer's description is %100 accurate then this laptop is a huge disappointment.

I would be happy to hear from other owners about the screen quality please.

You can see it at Best Buy. Yes it is a very dim screen. The Asus on Front Page has an incredible screen but doesn't have DVD drive. For people who still want this one, it is available at eBay now, see my new post:

I missed the sale for the front page Asus when it was $480 (refurbished, ebay) last week. Then I found this Toshiba for $460 (refurbished, ebay), which is a great deal indeed.

I expected someone to say, "Yes, the screen is not as incredible as Asus but still not bad". Nobody did. I wish someone did, but didn't.

In the meanwhile, the $480 deal for Asus came back to ebay and I ordered that one last night.
I hope I did the right choice. I am not feeling like I made a mistake but it was a very close call to be honest.
