User Comment on Product: "I have this phone and completely disagree. I bought it for my 4yo son about 3 months ago, and he uses it every single day without issue. He uses it for games, movies, and music, and it has been rock solid. Sure, it's old tech with a grainy screen and slow processor, but the thing just works, and the battery lasts forever. Best $20 ever spent.
I'm not sure if the people having issues with this phone are downloading all kinds of apps that are incompatible and causing the issues, but I have not seen any issues with random reboots or locking up. My own Samsung Galaxy S3, on the other hand, has been terrible in this regard" - SquirtTortuga

User Comment on Product: I have this phone and haven't had one single issue with it freezing or rebooting. Been using it for 6 months and use it for hours each day facebooking and stuff at work. Awesome deal.(...) Battery life isn't so good though.- qhomie

RadioShack has the Kyocera event for just $14 Sunday and Monday only.

Heck of a deal for any MP3 player, nonetheless one with Wifi, android, etc.

The red one is in stock on RadioShack.com and ships free with order of $25 or more or ships free to store (must add to cart to see discount)

The black one is out of stock online and is B&M only.

I gave them the exact make, model, and EIN and they said it isn't an issue.

Btw, I noticed the phone didn't have the typical VM bloatware so it seems it may not be a full VM phone. Maybe that's why it works.
Be careful as everyone says that this phone is blacklisted on R+. Here is another link as well http://discourse.ringplus.net/t/i...orted/1052 for reference. Are you sure R+ told you that this phone is allowed? May be you can reply in this thread & clarify it to everyone!

Technically may not be an issue, HOWEVER R+ mvno Sprint contract will not allow it. If "management" knows, the phone will be disallowed, officially NOT supported. Many cases and such stories. On the other hand, it's really difficult for R+ to know exact type of phone by just giving them the ESN number.
Heard of one SDer who name his phone Cricket, and he got an email to switch phone immediately. One way to test this theory is to name the phone "Virgin Mobile Kyocera"...I'm sure that will generate some attention from R+ sooner or later Stick Out Tongue

Seems there are two methods, a PC based method and standalone method using some downloaded apk's. I had the standalone method work but you have to read the entire thread as some things seems to have changes slightly over time.
thanks and rep. Just rooted, and installed Titanium backup, Rom Toolkit, seekdroid...etc. Can't find custom rom, but so much fun for a $14 toy!

For anyone that missed it, they'll still be on sale for $20 tomorrow. Not as slick as $14, but still a decent deal.
Yeah just bought 2 with the $25 GC deal. Paid $18 out of pocket after tax.
Don't know what to do with them now Frown

RadioCrap sucks! They just cancelled my online order 'due to availability'. However, their website is now showing they have it in stock! And, of course, it's a higher price. I called customer service for their lame excuse on why my purchase was 'unavailable' but now seemingly available on their site. CS rep said that even though they may have it showing available online does not equate to actual availability in the warehouse. And that the current availability on their site may not be correct.

They really need a better POS/Inventory system.

Now I have to wait to hear back while they confirm with the warehouse that the item is truly available. WTF?? No wonder why they are losing money and are closing stores.

Good luck. Let us know how it pans out for you. I think I'm going to stop by the local store to check their stock and see if the manager will price match to previous order.

I got the same email, and I question the validity of it as well. Especially since when I check my order status the last couple days, that status shows as "located in stock". So they found the item in the warehouse, but now they say they couldn't find it? Yeah, right.

If you still need this phone, you can order it directly from Virgin Mobile's website [virginmobileusa.com] for about $20 (price shows in cart), and check the cashback sites as some of them are offering a $5 rebate with a Virgin Mobile phone purchase.

They will not blacklist it. Virgin is no contract, by not paying the bill you simply don't have phone service.

You could pay a month, then not pay for another 10 months... it's perfectly fine.

You have no idea what you are talking about Virgin Mobile blacklists phones all the time.

Thanks, hodaddy. (Strange... never in my life would I ever imagined myself typing that Wink ) Repped!

I'd rather Virgin get my funds directly than RadioCrap. I will never buy from them again. Was considering filing a complaint but they have enough issues to deal with such as losing potential customers like me because they have a lousy POS (point of sale) to Inventory integration.

Never have for my son, who routinely activates it every 3 to 5 months.

You pay virgin for advanced use. The only way you would get blacklisted is setting up auto debit with a fraudulent card, filed a charge back, etc.

When we switched away from virgin to mobile for a year, our phones were able to instantly be switched on without any issue.

In short, your entirely incorrect and for this situation which I quoted, you will not get blacklisted period. Spoofing MEID numbers and shit like that of course they will blacklist. Not paying a -advanced service- Bill won't do anything.

You are totally missing the point the person said that RS activated the phone it shows a bill due they will blacklist until it is paid.
Your phones were fine because they did not have an outstanding balance.
I know this is prepaid but the way RS did the pre activation it will cause the phone to be blacklisted.
I understand how prepaid works I used VM for 5 years until I got tired of their BS
