Deal Details

Edit - I've been updating this thread regularly. I'm now focusing on actual release week pricing and the best possible prices.

Frozen releases on Blu-Ray/DVD on 3/18, and like most new Disney movies, there's always a lot of interest in where/how to get the best price. In this thread I'm going to focus on the price of the Blu-Ray/DVD combo Pack (Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy) since that seems to be the format most Slickdealers are looking for. The retail price of the Blu-Ray Combo Pack is set at $29.99. Release week prices and ads are now showing up online, and it looks like the movie is going to be $20 at most retailers.

There wasn't a Disney Manufacturer's coupon through Scott like we were hoping for, but there is a $3 coupon on Mama Mary's pizza crusts if you can find them in your local grocery store. Thanks shiznick11 and pjsammy.[/b] (Please give those two rep for their finds). There's also a $5 coupon from Kelloggs but you need to buy three boxes of fruit snacks. The Mama Mary's crusts are in the grocery (not frozen) section of most Walmart and other grocery stores.

Pre-Order and In-store Prices - Frozen Blu-Ray Combo Pack
Amazon [amazon.com] - $19.99 with free shipping for Prime members
Toys R Us [toysrus.com] - The link is now broken but I'm going to leave it up in case it comes back. The release week ad price is officially $19.99. If you pre-order Pirate Fairy you get $10 off any other Disney Blu-Ray priced $19.99 or higher. The pre-order costs $1, but can be used for current movies like the Jungle Book, and you're under no obligation to actually purchase the movies you pre-order. Look at it as you're spending $1 for a $10 coupon. This is the best deal as I'll expand on later.
Walmart [walmart.com] - The release week ad price is officially $19.96.
Best Buy [bestbuy.com] - $19.99 + $2 worth of points
Fry's [frys.com] - $24.99
Target [target.com] - $19.99.

Other Versions
Blu-Ray 3D + Blu-Ray [amazon.co.uk] - A 3D version is only available internationally at this time. You can order it through Amazon.uk and the region free disc should play on any modern 3D Blu-Ray player.
Target Exclusive Version with a bonus DVD [target.com] - $24.99. It's only a dollar more, but the bonus DVD (not Blu-Ray) doesn't appear to contain much. From the information available online you get a deleted scene, an art gallery, and some stuff on the voice actors.
Walmart exclusives with Disney Infinity Figures - $21.96 starting Tuesday according to the ad. They have two versions, one with Elsa [walmart.com], one with Anna [walmart.com].
Zavvi [zavvi.com] - Has a limited edition steel book copy in 3D. £24.99. It appears to be Region B only. Here [world-import.com] is a link to a region map. Basically, if you're not in Europe or Africa or you don't know for a fact that you don't have a region-free DVD player, order at your own risk.

Best Price
Toys R Us currently has pre-order cards in their electronics sections for Pirate Fairy. (See attachment) Pirate Fairy releases on 4/1. Frozen releases on 3/18. You can spend $1 to preorder Pirate Fairy and save $10 on any Disney Blu-Ray $19.99 or more up until 3/31. Obviously, whether intended or not, the Pirate Fairy pre-order period overlaps the release of Frozen. The deal here is to spend $1 to save $10 on Frozen, then stack with the Mama Mary's $3 coupon (or the $5 fruit snack coupon). The issue is that the Pirate Fairy pre-order cards are probably going to all be long long gone by then. Other SD'ers have reported that TRU has told employees to remove the pre-order cards from the shelves. Those who've followed this thread for a few weeks know that I've advised you to plan ahead and sneak a few of them out of Toys R Us ahead of time. If you didn't you'll have to hope your TRU still has the cards on the shelf.

Best TRU price - $19.99 ad price + $1.00 Pirate Fairy preorder - $10.00 Pirate Fairy Preorder Discount - $3 Mama Mary's Coupon = $7.99

I will continue to keep this thread updated with new pricing until the movie releases. Thank you to everyone who's contributed information.

Thanks for the informative update. My kids are crazy about this movie. Will be checking in on this later.

How do you get the DMR coupon? Do you have to use your points to get one?

Quit being a jerk and move on. If you don't want the movie, go crap on some other thread.

Ordering the Infinity set from Walmart unless there's a coupon.

I don't think it sucked per se, but I do agree it sounded forced. Some of the songs were goofy and the characters didn't have the development you see in other Disney movies. I thought tangled was much better and brave was better as well.

Not next month in the US.

There is still a UK 3D release that can be ordered for around $25.

There are rumors of possibly a 3D US release 'later' -- speculation maybe
for Xmas 2014 or maybe even 2015.

Most of the people I personally know who saw it either liked it or loved it. Haven't heard anyone who hated it. It's not on the level of Disney's from Little Mermaid to Aladdin, but it's certainly one of the upper tier Disney's (excluding Pixar) releases since at least mid 90's

After the weather in recent weeks, the last word I want to hear right now is "frozen".

Does anyone know the difference between Amazon's "Frozen (Two-Disc Blu-ray / DVD + Digital Copy)" and Target's "Frozen (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy)"? Looks like Target is supposed to have a bonus disc exclusively but in the Special Features section of the Amazon page, it says: Blu-ray(TM) Feature Film + Bonus. Thanks!
