User's Comment on Product: "I bought this deal last time it came around ... late November I think? Got the iPad Mini Retina $299 deal. It is completely legit. Shipping was slow but only due to the massive demand. Customer service was prompt. At the time they were offering free data till the beginning of March. LTE speeds were great, no throttling... its T-mobile. Device is unlocked / international..." - jowilker

Figured this deserved a new post since they've lowered prices and also switch you over to the free 200MB plan after April.

Millenicom has reduced their prices for the 16GB Ipad Mini Retina LTE and 16GB Ipad Air LTE to $299.99 and $399.99 respectively.

They charge an activation fee of $49.99 and a $15 shipping fee

iPad Mini Retina LTE 16GB (white or black) total for $364.98
iPad Air LTE 16GB (white or black total) for $464.98

Free 6.5GB LTE, unlimited non-LTE, and unlimited non-LTE international roaming until the end of April, then they will automatically switch you over to the monthly free 200MB LTE with unlimited non-LTE, unlimited non-LTE International Internet access unless you select otherwise.

I believe they are a T-mobile MNVO, so the non-LTE is probably throttled 3g.

There is an activation fee of $49.99 and a $15 shipping fee.

iPad Mini Retina LTE 16GB (white or black) total for $364.98
iPad Air LTE 16GB (white or black total) for $464.98

Are the iPads locked?
No, all iPads ship unlocked and can be used on any carrier. All iPads are GSM/CDM/LTE capable now, in a single model. You can use this iPad on Tmo, ATT, sprint, vzw, etc. It will not have non-US LTE bands but should work at 3G speeds in the 100 countries they list support on.

Do i need to cancel before getting charged?

No, it states on April 1, 2014 the promo period for 6.5GB/mo of LTE ends - and you will be automatically transitioned to the free 200MB LTE (unlimited non-LTE/international non-LTE) Obviously double check once you receive, but the terms are very clear. The 200MB then unlimited non-LTE plan is new, no one has any experience with it. The terms page says its through 2014, but the support chat staff has said its indefinite.

Is this better than the free 200MB LTE TMO plan?
Yes, this includes unlimited non-LTE both US and internationally. It is not clear what non-LTE is, if that includes 3G or is limited to very slow 2G speeds. IT IS MOST LIKELY "2G"speeds, capped at 128Kbps (16KB/sec) for both international and US after your reach the 200MB LTE in US.

What if I go over 200MB LTE?
You can't, they will turn off your LTE at 200MB and you'll be restricted to non-LTE speeds for the rest of the month. They state they do not charge overages, if you use excessively, tmobile, their provider, may discontinue your service.

The service checker says it has no service at my house
It is broken due to load, if you check tmo coverage maps for non-roaming LTE and 3G you should be good - http://www.t-mobile.com/coverage.html

These ship with tmobile branded sims.

They have been responsive to questions and there are many, many satisfied buyers from the previous 3 threads on this.

LTE support:
https://www.apple.com/ipad/LTE/
Bands 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,13,17,18,19,20,25,26
This includes all 4 major US cellular providers

If anyone has a screenshot of the iPad Air/iPad Mini Retina prices please post them here as many of us bought this during the last time around and are eligible for Discover Price Protection if there is a screenshot available. Thanks

Be careful with this... Did some research and found some reviews from a retail location. Mentions of cancelled orders without refunds and slower than labeled Internet speeds come up.

That's 1 review out of 7 reviews that mention cancelled orders without refund. I ordered the last deal with success and will order again.

So I read in the terms that you have to write a letter to cancel service. Is that actually true or can you call?

Also, if I went to apple store and bought iPad air 16gb LTE it would cost me $687 tax included. So I can get the same thing from here for $450ish w/ no contract? I'm in for one but putting on Amex just in case lol.

Can you guys just help me to understand this?

Is this saying that if I order this and do nothing, that I'll remain on a free plan where I'll get 200MB LTE then non-LTE unlimited? Or will I be billed monthly if I do nothing? If I will be billed, do I just need to call them to switch to the free plan they mentioned?

From Millenicom site:
It’s an international 16GB iPad Mini Retina with no contract and free data until April 1, 2014. After that date your plan allows monthly free service for 200MB LTE with unlimited non-LTE thereafter and unlimited non-LTE International Internet access or you can continue the 6.5GB LTE service plan with unlimited non-LTE thereafter and unlimited non-LTE International Internet access for $59.99/mo.

Still confused as to what happens when the free expires. Do you get charged a monthly service fee?

What's preventing someone from buying one of these iPads and then flipping it on eBay or Glyde?

From Millenicom site:
It's an international 16GB iPad Mini Retina with no contract and free data until April 1, 2014.

What happens after April 1, 2014?
You will automatically be subscribed to the free 200MB LTE and unlimited non-LTE service plan with unlimited International service in over 100 countries worldwide. Clients can continue at 6.5GB LTE and unlimited non-LTE with unlimited non-LTE International data for $59.99/month.
