I have the Asus T100 64GB. I use it as a tablet and hardly ever need the keyboard for anything. I'd rather have the 1920x1200 screen and Z3770 processor. I also miss the oleophobic coating from my HP Touchpad which I assume this has, being it's also HP. I don't know if I can live with 32GB eMMC. If only this were the 64GB version for this price.

It not the price, you cant replace a emmc, its soldered on. It has no sd slot. It has no full size usb slot. There is zero ways to upgrade the storage of this non tablet os.
Are you sure it doesn't have a MicroSD slot? Specs say otherwise.

Best thing I ever did was get the surface pro for 500 last month, you literally forget about every other tablet out there. I haven't had he urge to get a android or ipad ever since I got the surface. Best advice I would say is to save up for a surface pro when it goes on sale again and just get it and not deal with all the headaches of these bs atom tabs that all suck one way or another.
I feel the same about my Ativ Tab 7 that I bought for $550 with dock. No 10" android tablet feels as good anymore.

I have 2 desktops, a laptop, a windows tablet w/ keyboard dock, a 7" android tablet, and a phone. Excessive...absolutely. I agree with your sentiment though. For productivity, I use my desktops and laptop the most.
Thats the beauty of the Surface Pro, it is a real laptop in tablet form, now its my only computer other than my android phone. With the surface, just get a cheap usb hub and than you can attach any regular usb keyboard and mouse it basically becomes a laptop/desktop.

except that your surface pro battery life is only 4-5 hours

this is around 8 hours

and at 40% cheaper

it has microSD

I have the T100 too...

I use the keyboard maybe 30% of the time, but the kb is helpful when I need to use it

32GB? How is that a good thing? lol.

One game or even MS Office and the entire thing is filled up already. I don't know exactly how much storage comes with these things, but WIN8 is not a slim OS. The amount of storage you have for personal use is limited.

I love how people feel MS shouldn't sell a Windows device with only 32GB, I am sure you all feel the same about iPads with 16GB. Initially iOS wasn't huge nor were the apps. Not the case anymore. My flipping 16GB phone is nearly full and I don't have a ton on it. You certainly couldn't run much on an iOS tablet at 16GB.

Anyway back to this - no experience with it but I am loving the Windows tablet thing (bought the Surface Pro a few weeks ago) I haven't purchased the cover keyboard yet and am just using a usb keyboard when I want to do some work on it. Do the same with this and you are good to go

Same with the Ativ Tab 7. I just need more power than a surface. The surface still cannot replace the desktop for heavy users, and my Vaio Flip's WQHD active screen is the only one of it's kind. For digital art, even the Surface and Ativ pale in comparison.

I am pretty sure if this was 64gb it would be sold out already. The specs are similar to the dell venue 11 pro (except the full usb port). Look like these baytrail are starting to drop in price big time now.

If this had digitizer support, I'd be all over it in a heartbeat. Really looking for a good 10/11" Bay Trail tablet with digitizer support and a high res screen that is not too expensive, and most importantly ISN'T A DELL (had a horrendous experience with Dell that defies logic, which made me never want to purchase anything from Dell ever again).

Anyone know of anything that fits the bill?

I brought it when it was $349 at OD in December. Like it so far, for the price and features. I had ordered Dell Venue Pro 11 at $499 and returned it unopened.

Nice screen and size. Micro SD card, can be used to save desktop applications, documents, music, photos, etc., so that it does not use up the 32 GB. Even after installing the included MS Office H&S 2013, and quite a few Microsoft Store applications, I have 12GB or more left. Like the convenience of using Windows applications and integration with Office 365 (my company uses O365 and allows BYOD) so I can take it around meetings.

Some issues: freezes up occasionally. Win8 does not pop up touchscreen keyboard automatically for desktop applications. The power socket seems to be loose. The location of the power socket, micro HDMI and micro USB does not allow a stand to be used. (I believe there is a dock available that allows that). The registry hack that allows installing Windows store applications to the microSD did not work for me and I had to recover the system. Also, there is not much of support or information about this on HP site or on the web, in general.

Overall a good price for the features.

I think the best combo is...

One Powerful Desktop (SSD) (i53570k)
One Decent laptop (SSD) (i3 Vaio)
One Windows Phone 8 (Nokia 520)

That is my setup and it works fine for all needs.

If I were to add a tablet I would get Surface 2 Pro..but at this point its superfluous.

If this came with Win 8.1 PRO, wireless charging, and/or Office 2013 I would be all over it.

I want PRO so I can add Media Center and I know you can upgrade but that adds $100.
Try XBMC. Stomps all over media center.

i dont understand the point of windows 8 tablets at this price point without things like official keyboard docks and add ons. leave the media consumption market to android/ios.
Why? these are great for consumption as well as for production. rather than carrying a laptop + a consumption device, this replaces both and cost less.
