Careful with credit card gift card (like Vanilla Visa Gift Card). PIA can't process gift credit cards reliably.

Here are some alternative VPN services that have large selection of servers (worldwide)proxy.sh is $5 month

Setting up BT software Vuze (used to be call Azureus) to only use VPN connection (won't connect if VPN connection not available.)
Here is a tutorial of it.
http://wiki.hidemyass.com/Tutoria...hrough_VPN
Here's a tutorial for utorrent: http://wiki.hidemyass.com/Tutoria...IP_binding
(Remember to un-check make new firewall rule in utorrent settings/prefs)

uTorrent step-by-step instructions [lifehacker.com]

Enter the interface identifier into the field next to "Bind to local IP address or interface" in the settings.
Note that the interface identifier is named different on every system, so make sure to check how exactly it is called on yours.
In their example, it is "eth15" for OpenVPN, "net2" for PPTP" and "net1" for L2TP.

Make sure the checkbox next to "Enforce IP bindings even when interfaces are not available" is checked;
otherwise it can happen that Vuze keeps downloading without using the VPN.

If the Vuze setup is done correctly, it will ONLY use your VPN connection. If you didn't login to your VPN service, Vuze won't work.

what is this for? sorry for any stupid question. is this for hiding what you are downloading or people not knowing where you are using your computer from?
any pros or cons?
It's used mainly for 2 things. One is changing the location you appear to be connecting from. That can be useful for getting around geographical blocks. For example, if you're in the US and want to watch programs on BBC's iPlayer service.

The second is to hide your traffic from prying eyes. Configure your VPN connection to use encryption and your ISP (and others) can't look at your traffic and see what you're up to. It could be useful in the future to hide Netflix traffic so your ISP can't throttle it.

I literally just started a subscription last night. Frown Damn.
Greetings. Their customer service is EXCELLENT. I did the same thing as you! Started a subscription and 5 days later, I found this deal. They refunded my subscription and let me start a new one at the new price. Contact their customer service via their site OR here on Slickdeals. They'll get you squared away fairly!

Write them and you'll probably get an adjustment. It's worth a try.

After the 1 year, will I still be able to renew at this price? It seems that was the case with the previous deal.

That's what I was told when I got my sub... you can auto-renew at the same price forever! That's why I went in yearly. $31.95 a year is an absolute killer deal.

Hmm... if you disconnect from the VPN, your IP will go back to the one assigned by your ISP. If you disconnect and reconnect to the VPN, your IP will change.

But whilst you're connected to the VPN, you get the IP assigned by the VPN. Why would you want your original IP? That defeats the purpose of a VPN altogether...

(if I'm understanding your question correctly)

I caught this deal a few months ago at the 1/yr $31.95 price. Highly recommend it, best VPN I've used so far. The others like HMA tend to have a lot of latency and really limit my connection speed, but with PIA, I barely even notice that I'm connected to a VPN.

Reliable worldwide servers and their customer service has been top-notch too. No negative experiences yet, but I wish the software was a bit more intuitive and had more options. All in all, worth every penny (and more).
What kind of Internet connection speed you have? I'm looking for at least a 50 Mb connection, preferably 200, and a lot of VPNs choke when it comes to this.

I really need to do my research on this, so sorry in advance. Could I use this, change my location and watch my local NBA team play on nba league pass? They have blackout restrictions if the team is playing on local cable.

Absolutely! That's one of the things it's used for.. to spoof connection. I've been spoofing to London and watching the Olympics LIVE on BBC (instead of waiting for the replay on American TV). Works great for that and with this VPN you'll get good, reliable speed when buffering.

Would this offer work with bitcoin and/or paygarden?
It didn't work with paygarden last time and doesn't seem to be avail this time either.

I'm running a Time Warner 50 down/5 up connection, but I had a 20/1 connection prior to this, and PIA worked great all the time. I am a former Hide My Ass customer, and my 20 down was more like 11 or 12, so I know what you mean.

With PIA, I can barely even tell that I'm connected to a VPN. I used to disconnect HMA to run things where I needed really reliable connection.... with PIA, I don't need to. I just forget it's there and my connection is pretty solid.
