Careful with credit card gift card (like Vanilla Visa Gift Card). PIA can't process gift credit cards reliably.

Here are some alternative VPN services that have large selection of servers (worldwide)proxy.sh is $5 month

Setting up BT software Vuze (used to be call Azureus) to only use VPN connection (won't connect if VPN connection not available.)
Here is a tutorial of it.
http://wiki.hidemyass.com/Tutoria...hrough_VPN
Here's a tutorial for utorrent: http://wiki.hidemyass.com/Tutoria...IP_binding
(Remember to un-check make new firewall rule in utorrent settings/prefs)

uTorrent step-by-step instructions [lifehacker.com]

Enter the interface identifier into the field next to "Bind to local IP address or interface" in the settings.
Note that the interface identifier is named different on every system, so make sure to check how exactly it is called on yours.
In their example, it is "eth15" for OpenVPN, "net2" for PPTP" and "net1" for L2TP.

Make sure the checkbox next to "Enforce IP bindings even when interfaces are not available" is checked;
otherwise it can happen that Vuze keeps downloading without using the VPN.

If the Vuze setup is done correctly, it will ONLY use your VPN connection. If you didn't login to your VPN service, Vuze won't work.

I have been with them for almost a year and am very satisfied!

To lock in at sale price you must may payment with something that can auto renew guys like PP or CC, Bitcoins will not work.

Someone was asking about speeds. It depends on what type of encryption you are using. The higher encryption - the slower the speed. You will not get speeds of 50Mb with any type of encryption or internet IMO

Also, on another forum someone was saying PIA has this sale monthly now. I have been with them for almost a year and have been waiting for a sale and only recall one that I missed. Anyone confirm if this might be true as I have been checking regularly and haven't seen anything.

So, it's just a proxy, right? The internet (wifi) itself is not included, right?

Would this offer work with bitcoin and/or paygarden?
which is the smartest thing to do.. To bad this company is located in the U.S. Not sure why you'd want to VPN into most of their servers that are US or UK based.

can i change the IP address back to my original one after lets say selecting somewhere in europe?
Yes.

Hmm... if you disconnect from the VPN, your IP will go back to the one assigned by your ISP. If you disconnect and reconnect to the VPN, your IP will change.

But whilst you're connected to the VPN, you get the IP assigned by the VPN. Why would you want your original IP? That defeats the purpose of a VPN altogether...
That's not true. Your IP doesn't have to be assigned by the VPN. You can select any of the IPs allocated to that VPN. You can have the same IP address everytime you connect to PIA if you want. Why would anyone do this? Not all servers are created equal. Some are quicker than others. If you find a quick one, you can go back to that one everytime if you want.

Having the same IP each time does not defeat the purpose of a VPN. Many VPNs only have one IP address. Many people use VPNs to secure their open hotspot connections. For anonymity, the whole point of a VPN is that of a party line. Anyone will know which VPN service you are using. They just can't identify which subscriber on that server belongs to each connection.

Correct, it's just a VPN service. They're not an ISP.

Correct, but aren't you speaking of PPTP in that case? With the PIA software, I've never seen an option to select the same IP, only the same server (shared IP). Never seen any type of dedicated IP option in their desktop software. Please advise? I'm always down to learn more.

The UK would be worse than the US. While the US spys covertly, it's the law to be spied on in the UK.

As for bitcoins, what's the point? Unless you go to starbucks or other public location for your wifi. They can track you back as a PIA subscriber from your connection at home.

Fast and stable VPN. But windows client needs work. Requires manual shutdown and restart to reconnect after local connection is lost. OK in operation.

Very noob friendly, just download their VPN client, makes it easy as pie.

Mine doesn't require that? I'm on Windows too. I think it's just your computer.

I've been using this service for about 8 months and I would definitely recommend it although it is not perfect from my experience. For the past month or so I've been getting random disconnects that are immediately fixed by disconnecting and reconnecting. Very frustrating and their online help forum has been unimpressive in their response. Those two work-in-progress issues aside, I'm still quite satisfied with the results.

Doesn't have to be PPTP. The PIA software is just a GUI on top of OpenVPN. In OpenVPN you can specify the VPN server down to a specific IP address. Just edit the config file from <regional PIA domain> to <specific IP address> and it'll use only that server or anything in between. For example, you can have 3 or 4 servers that it will choose between.

Which software? From a glance it looks like it won't be running through my router? It says it has a 5 device limit. Is this going to be friendly in all environments? I would want to use it on Mac, windows, iOS, Android.
I can't speak to how it works on Mac and iOS, but it works just fine on windows and android (very quick install). I especially make sure I have it turned on when I have to use my phone to check sensitive info. VPN + lastpass on my phone gives me a little peace-of-mind.

Awesome. I'm in the market for a service like this so no can watch blacked out MLB games on MLB.tv. Speaking of which, I'm looking for a couple more baseball fans to share my MLB.tv account for this up coming season. Looking to split the $130 annual rate 4 ways. PM me if you are interested in spending $33 on a year of MLB.tv. Was part of a 4 person group last season and that worked out Totally Awesome!

Thanks OP, been wanting to use one of these, I used Amazon Payments. Hopefully it can lock me in with the price point...

A few questions though for noobs:

1) Do I need to use this on all PCs in my house if I want to remain 'private'?
2) Follow Up, can multiple PCs use the same log on information?
3) Any suggestions which server/area is best to proxy? Seems like overseas will cause slowdown in downloads.
