Careful with credit card gift card (like Vanilla Visa Gift Card). PIA can't process gift credit cards reliably.

Here are some alternative VPN services that have large selection of servers (worldwide)proxy.sh is $5 month

Setting up BT software Vuze (used to be call Azureus) to only use VPN connection (won't connect if VPN connection not available.)
Here is a tutorial of it.
http://wiki.hidemyass.com/Tutoria...hrough_VPN
Here's a tutorial for utorrent: http://wiki.hidemyass.com/Tutoria...IP_binding
(Remember to un-check make new firewall rule in utorrent settings/prefs)

uTorrent step-by-step instructions [lifehacker.com]

Enter the interface identifier into the field next to "Bind to local IP address or interface" in the settings.
Note that the interface identifier is named different on every system, so make sure to check how exactly it is called on yours.
In their example, it is "eth15" for OpenVPN, "net2" for PPTP" and "net1" for L2TP.

Make sure the checkbox next to "Enforce IP bindings even when interfaces are not available" is checked;
otherwise it can happen that Vuze keeps downloading without using the VPN.

If the Vuze setup is done correctly, it will ONLY use your VPN connection. If you didn't login to your VPN service, Vuze won't work.

I have AirVPN. I use openVPN to connect. How does this service compare? Are they going to sell you out like other vpn companies in the past?

any deal for existing users? I got in on a deal simliar to this last year and my subscription is expiring soon.

Very happy with service:
- fast
- easy to logon
- multiple locations around the world
- seems to be adding more locations lately tooSmilie
- multiple platform/device support. (windows, android, linux)
- easy to setup even for an idiot (just install their client app)
- all you to use up to 3 device at once.

highly recommended if you do any kind of bittorrenting or go on sites that limit your daily contents

I'm running a Time Warner 50 down/5 up connection, but I had a 20/1 connection prior to this, and PIA worked great all the time. I am a former Hide My Ass customer, and my 20 down was more like 11 or 12, so I know what you mean.

With PIA, I can barely even tell that I'm connected to a VPN. I used to disconnect HMA to run things where I needed really reliable connection.... with PIA, I don't need to. I just forget it's there and my connection is pretty solid.
Can you run a Speed Test and let us know what kind of speed you get on your 50/5 connection VPN vs non-VPN? Thanks!

I am a total noob re the use of this but I am in for $32/year...WTHN...especially when their home page shows my IP address and how they mask it (Classic...). Now if someone could please make my Lakers relevant again so that I have a reason to purchase an NBA Pass. Always pissed me off that I was in the "LA Market" when I live in San Diego and they were playing on the local channel in LA. Repped!

Is this via software only or can it work through a setup on a router like dd-wrt?

I caught this deal a few months ago at the 1/yr $31.95 price. Highly recommend it, best VPN I've used so far. The others like HMA tend to have a lot of latency and really limit my connection speed, but with PIA, I barely even notice that I'm connected to a VPN.

Reliable worldwide servers and their customer service has been top-notch too. No negative experiences yet, but I wish the software was a bit more intuitive and had more options. All in all, worth every penny (and more).
Agreed, I just switched from another VPN (Torguard) and am very pleasantly surprised at the speeds I'm seeing. Something that I'll miss is that PIA is pretty limited in sites outside the US, though it is nice that they have a Toronto location to connect to.

I'm a 50/10 with Cox and am getting full speeds up and down when connected to the VPN.

Another satisfied user. I got this in the black Friday deal for the same price ( I think it was the same). Let's me watch BBC in US and US Netflix in UK. Great for connecting securely while traveling too.

Live chat customer service on their website is very good.

Only issue for me is my FTP client wont list folders when VPN is connected. I have to disconnect, but that no big deal for me. I typically only webDev on trusted connections.

How does this work? If I hit buy now they just let me pay straight up? Don't I have to make an account on the website or anything? How do they know who I am?
