I know many people will bash the Vivitar brand, but depending on what you are looking for an action camera to do, this will serve most people's purposes.

Only 2 reviews on Amazon (3.5 star average) - selling for $99. Walmart reviews are pretty decent.

Looks like it's $50 now via the link below....

Some technical information:
-Camera can be easily disassembled by removing the two bottom screws and gently prying the top of the rear case away from the front (it's held by small plastic tabs inside).
-Two 3.7V lithium (polymer?) cells inside, one at the back of the mobo, one at the front (they are shaped differently). Rear cell is 650mAh. Both are soldered on by + and - wires.
-Mainboard is a DVH528 V1.2, you can find many examples searching Google.
-Firmware supports exFAT! (However, there's a bug: you cannot playback files on card after a power cycle...)
-Pics of the screen and battery: http://imgur.com/a/uhQ1e

Vehicle mode operation notes:
1. After switching the camera to vehicle mode operation, the camera will automatically power on and start recording when power is connected.
2. When external power is lost, the camera will automatically shutdown after a brief delay.
3. Date and time text is automatically overlaid onto the video footage at the top of the image.
4. You can set the camera to flip the image so that you can record upright footage when the camera is mounted upside down.
5. The camera will not remember the display off setting after a power cycle, but I believe it will automatically disable the screen after a short period of time.

Short length mount screws:
This appears to be common when trying to use the camera outside of the case. It's possible the inserts in the camera were installed backwards at the factory. On many of the mounts the screw can be replaced with one of the below options:
Option 1 [amazon.com]

Option 2 [amazon.com]

Really mixed reviews.

What is the return policy - 15 or 90 days?

So it will do 1080p @30fps, but can it do 720p @60fps? I think an action cam that can't do 60fps is a bit moot.

Just received mine... So far, it may be worth it alone for the accessories... All powered up abs nothing was broken in the box... I test it later... I wrecked on my mountain bike and can really do much for a while... I can't even get on my road bike until I heal up from concussion, soreness and open wounds. Hopefully I can use this camera along with much better ones... But the accessories are solid. Really impressed with the overall cheap package.

These accessories are compatible with Go Pro and much cheaper than the Go Pro branded ones.

Pretty sure you can return items to walmart indefinitely as long as you have a receipt.

edit: apparently I am wrong, thought this used to be the case but haven't shopped there in a while.

i hate you. I just bought 4 Frown. If its crap and the accessories really do work for a gopro, that alone makes it worth it.
regardless of my hatred of you, you still get a thumbs up Smilie.
FYI, it costs $3 to receive it quite a bit faster if shipping to home

yeah this is what i want to know. the walmart site says 1080@30fps but the official site [vivitar.com] says 1080p@60fps... i think i will just buy one and return it if i dont like it. can anyone who has one chime in though? would really appreciate it.
