**Now Live!**

Register a Nintendo 2DS, 3DS, or 3DS XL and one of six eligible games on Club Nintendo [nintendo.com] from March 1st - March 31st, 2014 and get a free download code for Pokemon X or Pokemon Y ($39.99 value). The eligible six games include Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Yoshi's New Island, LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins, Super Mario 3D Land, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, and Mario Kart 7. You can purchase physical or digital versions of the eligible games. This promotion is valid in US and Canada.

This promotion is not linked to a specific store. If you have previously purchased a Nintendo 2DS, 3DS, or 3DS XL and a physical copy of any of the six eligible games before March 1st, you still qualify for this promo as long as you have not already registered your system/games on Club Nintendo. If you have previously purchased a digital copy of any of the eligible games before March 1st, it will not qualify for this promo.

I bought my son a 3DS XL some time ago and Animal Crossing: New Leaf for Christmas. Is he likely eligible for this? We have not registered anything on Club Nintendo before. In fact, I don't really know much about Club Nintendo (obviously). Do I just sign up (for him) and enter some serial numbers or something? Or is this more involved?

Yes, sign up and register the 3ds and game using the number found on the card in the box/case. But don't do it until this promotion starts.

As far as we know right now, it should work for you. You register products on Club Nintendo from the PIN included as an insert inside the system/game's box. As long as you bought them new, you should be able to register the unused codes. I don't think date and location of purchases should matter.

I stupidly registered a M&L 3DS XL serial number from the back of the box on Club Nintendo but not the Club Nintendo Pin. Would that still count? I never got points posted because I never opened the box to begin with.. lol

I'm happy I've been sitting on my extra codes for awhile. This will be a nice bonus.

Sounds fantastic! He'll love a free Pokemon game. I am slightly worried, however, that it might be hard to find the boxes/paperwork for the unit and games. Do I enter something from the unit and game cartridge itself or is the required information only on the box/paperwork? (I hoping that I don't have to send him on a searching exercise for the paperwork... even though we likely have that somewhere...)
Thanks!

The PIN for games and systems come on a loose leaf paper inside the box.

The code is on a card that comes in the game box.
