if i connect my xbox to tv via hdmi, then connect this headset to my tv headphone jack, will i get 7.1?
I wish. No, any common headphone jack outputs stereo, 2 channels (left and right).

No you will not. The 7.1 is virtual surround sound and done by software on your computer. Also your tv headphone jack will only output stereo sound.

Using my $20 rewards on this to make $22 after tax and free shipping. Hoping to flip it on Amazon for $50 new to make profit of about $25 onto of my free $20 rewards. Finally found a deal worth doing.

how does this compare to the astro units?
It should be better than the default Astro headsets with no mix amp as the headsets by themselves are only capable of stereo sound.

Trying to purchase but it keeps showing the cart again with payment info. The CVC code field blanks out each time. It just won't let me buy lol

Edit: Downloaded Firefox and it worked. But I had to use paypal option, credit card still wouldn't work no matter which browser I used.

This is my first headphone set, and Im getting it for gaming. How does it work? Specifically, I just want to use it for talking online. Do I plug it in where my speakers normally are plugged in?

It comes with a USB adapter, so you can just plug that into a USB port. Alternatively, you can remove the adapter and just plug the 3.5mm jacks into your inputs.
