True. Just received all five codes for the online purchase of Sunday. Redeemed it with a different email address. Now waiting for the Netflix code. 6:48PM Received all five Netflix Codes Feb 27 & redeemed all the codes without any problem.

Gmail users: Check your Promotions tab. My order confirmation / shipping confirmation emails came to my Primary inbox but the codes came to my Promotions folder.

Code will email in next 48 hours from 2/26/14 1pm PST according to the RS CSR.

Note: Their system seems to be handling the +1 GMail trick incorrectly; the + is shown as a space on the confirmation page, and no "Congratulations!" confirmation email is received. To be safe, use different email addresses or use the Gmail "dot" trick.


The 3 limit restriction has been imposed by the promocode at the specific behest of Radio Shack. if you need the restriction limited, you should call Radio Shack and let them know that the 3 limit restriction makes no sense when you are allowed to buy 10 items on line. Radio Shack will not lift that restriction unless they receive many calls from customers. Feed back your comment on this thread after you call them.

FYI: The promocard site is now accepting RS B&M receipt codes (from yesterday 2/24) that have not been previously entered. I received the "pls wait 48 hrs" email, and used a diff email per every 2 RS codes entered as not sure if restriction has been lifted yet.


JUST RECEIVED MY 5 Netflix CODES from my instore purchases Sunday. I validated them at 2pm PST on Sunday as well, all 5 codes stacked into my Netflix acct just now. When you check your billing history you will see a (dot) for each pending promo minus 1. For example I show 4 dots becuz one is applied and used as of this next cycle. Hope that makes sense.

Check your junk mail folder as the codes can be routed in there.

Do not discuss or request how to generate codes. And posts along those lines will be removed.

1: They WILL NOT PRICEMATCH A PRICE THAT YOU SHOW THEM ON YOUR PHONE! You need to have the physical ad with you. HOWEVER, if you don't, they can pull up the competitor's ad (Best Buy, in this case) online and look, OR call the store. How do I know? Because one of the people that sold me the phones hadn't done a price match before, so she had to read through all of their steps. In the steps it says that "if no physical ad is present, you may look up the competing ad online, or call the store and verify the price with a salesperson"

2: See if they'll order in more LG440 phones. 2 of the 3 stores said that they'd put in an order for more and call me when they got in. The deal is good until March, so you'll have plenty of time to stack those codes.

3: When checking out in store, look at the PIN pad, it will show the phone, then a line item mentioning 6 Months of Netflix. If you don't see this line item, don't pay - it means the associate didn't ring you up correctly or for some reason the phone didn't quality.



What to do I do with the phone now?
  1. Use it
  2. Trade the phone back in to RS for a $5 credit through 2/28/14. Check out thread here for more info.
  3. Keep in glove box like that 'mini shovel' in your trunk
  4. Open box, use charger, most of these phones have micro USB Chargers, These are good for almost all Android Smartphones and Mophie juice packs for iPhone
  5. Sell it on CL
  6. Donate to a shelter (Keep in mind, donating activated phones might not be the best idea for liability reasons.)
  7. Throw it on the ground!

Sunday Morning (2/23) - The beginning


On Sunday morning Radio Shack (RS) started a promotion that gave customers 6 months of netflix service (value of $48) when they purchase a no-contract or contract phone from several major carriers. The deal went live online first (as stores didn’t open until 10am EST) and many people were able to buy Kyocera Coasts for $9.99, Samsung Entro’s for $14.99, and Kyocera Event’s for $19.99. Orders were limited to 3 of any type of phone per order and 10 total phones per order. The Coasts sold out very quickly as they represented the best value. RS said they would email customers a code that could be entered at ThePromoCard.com (TPC) which would then generate another code that could be used on netflix to give customers 6 months of service. Users of Slickdeals (SD) speculated on several key issues including whether you could add multiple netflix codes on one account, thus giving you multiple years of service.

Sunday 10am - In store purchases begin

Customers begin to flood RS stores as they open, attempting to buy phones using competitor price matches (bringing the cost of some phones to $5) and trading in phones they just bought for RS gift cards as part of a recycling program they offer. Reports came in that many stores were requiring activations on phones, even though the RS terms of service specifically said they were not required. Some RS employees were also stating that netflix codes would be limited to one per account and that price matches couldn’t be combined with the netflix promo. However, the RS website stated the complete opposite of what some employees were stating, which led to a lot of frustration and confusion amongst SD users. RS employees were also neglecting to apply the promo to some peoples orders as the codes were not automatically applied by the system.

Sunday - No netflix codes

Many online users had received order confirmation emails for their phone purchases, but knew they had to wait for the phones to ship before they would receive their codes to be entered on TPC (clearly stated on RS website). Customers that purchased phones in stores received their TPC codes on their receipts and were able to enter them immediately. However, they recieved emails stating it would take 48 hours for the netflix codes to be sent to them. So at this point no one has received a code for Netflix.

Monday - Cancelled Orders

Users begin to report that some or all of their online orders are being cancelled. Those that still had open orders still have no idea if their orders will get cancelled, if they will get codes if their orders go through, and if they can apply multiple netflix codes to one account.

Monday Night - Change in terms

After hours of confusion and mixed information from RS and not a single person receiving a valid code for 6 months of Netflix, users were starting to get upset. Around 7:30pm EST users began to notice a change in the RS terms of service for this promo. It now stated that it only applies to phones over $29.99. Users with orders from sunday are now speculating as to whether their orders will be grandfathered in with the old terms of service.

Around 9pm EST a user reported that netlfix codes were being generated automatically from TPC for anyone that entered it after that time. By 9:50 a SD user had figured out that the URL being generated by TPC could be manipulated, giving anyone a valid netflix code. Instructions were provided on SD and within minutes users were generating dozens of codes and applying them to their netflix accounts, listing them on ebay, or just posting them on SD. The general consensus is that codes that were maliciously generated were depleting the pool of available codes and that eventually the codes would run out. Also, anyone who purchased phones online or entered their RS receipt codes into TPC prior to 9pm were essentially having their netflix codes stolen by this TPC exploit.

By 10pm the TPC site stopped generating netflix codes, but by then many users had already given themselves anywhere from 5-20 years of netflix service.

At around 11:30pm radio shack sent out shipping notifications to many of their customers whose orders had not been cancelled. So now customers have no idea if the phones they purchased on Sunday will come with netflix promo codes or not, since the TPC site appears to be depleted of all valid codes.

Those who were asked to wait 48 hours are now getting the codes sent via email.
Most people are reporting that:
>the codes are working

To those that did online purchase (either Saturday late nite or sunday morning). It is still unclear on if people have recieved the codes.

Q.Is the deal alive?
A. Yes, but the terms have changed making it less desirable. Now u have to buy a $29.99 or more phone ONLINE or buy any priced phone in store but must activate the in store phone.

Q. How can I tell how long I am paid till?
A. Still a bit unclear, but if u look into your account details on yor NF page under billing , you will see some {"dots"}. A dot will typically = ~$47 or ~6 months or service. 4 dots = 2years.

HAS ANYONE RECEIVED A VALID CODE FOR IN-STORE PURCHASES?
Q: The website said wait 48 hours. Then d-bags took advantage of the system. Has anyone received a code from entering in the receipt code from an in-store purchase yet? Please post here if yes.
Answer 1: Bought a phone in store Monday around 2PM, entered the code online right away, received my code around 7 PM on Tuesday and successfully entered it on Netflix!!
Answer 2: Email received Tuesday 7 eastern, with valid Netflix code from a $10 in store purchase and promocode entry made on Sunday.
Answer 3:multiple emails sent to gmail trick all arrived 3:44 PM Pacific time. One sent to Hotmail found in Junk folder. All stacked in one account.

REFUNDS: At 12:27PM today(Tuesday, 2/25), I went to another local Radio Shack store and successfully returned two $10 prepaid phones.
The manager didn't say a word and gave me back my cash within 60 seconds. I thanked him and left. As I was leaving, another employee
asked me if I was having issue redeeming the Netflix code. I said yes. Apparently she also fell victim to the crime committed by some dishonest
Slickdeal readers. She bought 1 phone and the got the code on the receipt. After entering the code on TPC website, she got a Netflix code
immediately. However, Netflix's website indicated that it was already used. Frown
