Received this letter from Comcast today, called I got the upgrade within few hours.
I'm located in Homestead, FL and this offer could be only for this area so YMMV.

Great News-
You are eligible to receive our Xfinity Extreme 105 Internet Service for no additional cost.
Dear Blast! Internet Customer:
We are updating several of our Double Play and Triple Play packages to include Xfinity Blast
Internet service within the monthly service rate. Based on this change, you will now receive Blast!
Internet service with your package. But for the same monthly rate you are paying now, you can
have an Internet upgrade from our Blast Internet speed with download speeds of 50Mbps to our
Extreme Internet service with 105 Mbps download speeds.
To get started with the faster speeds, we need your permission to upgrade your service. Call
1-888-228-0063 now to activate your Extreme 105 speeds.
We value our customers and look forward to continuing to serve you.
Thank you for being a Comcast customer.

Note: For those that speed test won't reach the desire rate of 105Mbps or above, you should run the test over a Gigabit Ethernet connection and not WiFi, also your router WAN port speed could be the bottleneck. Make sure the router WAN port supports 10/100/1000M speeds (I'm on the same boat and in the process of finding a router with that feature, but that also supports DD-WRT)
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Can someone please clean up this wiki ? It has grown too long and it's impossible to make sense out of it.

READ WIKI BEFORE POSTING IN THREAD

Do not make a post saying "Success" until you have ran a speedtest and confirmed the upgraded speed. The 1-888 reps told almost everyone they were approved and would see the change in 24-48 hours, but very few have actually seen the increase.

There is so much incomplete reporting and so many variables of whether people are getting this upgrade.
Please standardize your answers; Everyone who's reporting in successful/successful upgrades, please give us at least these details:

1. Your Location
2. Your Current Comcast speed: (Performance or Blast)
3. What you asked to upgrade to (Blast or Extreme)
4. Did you pay extra $10?
5. Have you tested the upgrade?
6. What is your current cable package? (Economy, Starter, HD Preferred)

If the rep at the (888) 228-0063 number says you aren't paying the extra $10 for blast and aren't able to get the promotion, then you can call (800) COMCAST, read off the letter, and then ask for a free upgrade to Blast! (50 mbps) from your old Performance (35 mbps) instead. You may also pay 10 extra for Extreme if that is what you would prefer. It is faster to do it this way and does not involve the 3rd party retailer - meaning it takes effect IMMEDIATELY.

NOTE: This promo is meant to only be for specific areas of Comcast's Central Region. Although many people have had success getting approved for the deal in many states, so far NOBODY outside of Comcast's Central region has actually received the speed increase.(As of 3/1) Comcast does say there is a 24 hour delay for speed upgrades to take affect, but it is technically possible that those outside of the intended promo region may not get the upgrade, even if approved. States that promo is officially valid in: Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, South Carolina. Promo may also be officially valid in only specific portions of the states listed, not the entire state.

Burlingame,CA : Speeds should update within 24hrs, per the rep! - UPDATE: No speed improvement after 24 hours.
Santa Maria, CA
Marin (San Rafael), CA - Spoke with actual Comcast rep and it definitely doesn't apply here. Would be $40/mo more plus $250 installation. They're sending PPV coups for the trouble though. GL everyone else!

Dracut, MA
N. Quincy Ma. (02171) Called in and was told I was eligible--that was two days ago--no upgrade yet.

Minneapolis (x2)

Manchester, NH

Pittsburgh, PA

Memphis, TN - Had the Blast Plus package with Digital Economy TV and 50mbps internet, and after several phone calls gave up and e-mailed the "We Can Help" Comcast e-mail address and someone called me back within 24 hours and upgraded my internet to 105mbps on the spot. Was also told it was supposed to cost $10 extra per month but did not charge me.

Houston, TX - Approved over the phone on a BB DoublePlay + $5 extra a month for Blast sub... Waiting 24 hours for fulfillment or cancellation...
(It seems the 3rd party center only takes our info to send to CC... They do not have access to CC's system... So it is more like a Pre-Approval, aka NOT SET IN STONE)
Katy, TX (77494) - Recently upgraded to Xfinity X1 service (already had comcast triple play). About a week after upgrading, I received email stating that my internet was being upgraded from 50mbps to 105mpbs for free. Ran speed test at speedtest.net and i am consistently getting between 115-119mbps down.

Roy, UT 84067
Bountiful, UT 84010

Richmond, VA 23233 - Update - They called me back and canceled my upgrade, as the offer was only for double play and triple play customers, and I am on "Internet-only" package
Ashburn, VA 20147 --- 3rd party backend support member called me and told not available in my area. 3rd party front end took all the orders and then get refused at back due to promo no available in our area.

Little Rock, AR - Would be eligible for upgrade from double play to extreme, but I'm currently in the six month promo period for double play blast. Extreme upgrade not eligible during promo period.

--------------------------------------------------------

ACTUALLY RECEIVING SPEED INCREASE:
  • Savoy, IL 61874 - Called 800 number. Already had preferred triple play service, got extreme 105 for no extra charge. Required modem refresh. http://stage.results.speedtest.co...687604.png
  • Lake Bluff, IL 60044 - Called first number, approved, 24hr to take effect. Internet only, no tv or phone. Called Comcast directly after 24hrs because it wasn't working. Said there was no evidence in my account there was an upgrade, but could the upgrade for +$10 a month. No setup fee. Went ahead and it became effective immediately.
    http://www.speedtest.net/result/3336761814.png
  • Macomb, MI 48044 - Called (800) COMCAST. Had Double Play Starter - free upgrade from Performance to Blast, +$10 for Extreme. Took effect immediately. http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3333941953
  • Wood Dale IL 60191 - First called 1888 number and after 22h waiting time called 1800 COMCAST number and they helped me.http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3334809540
  • Knoxville, TN 37917 - Called 1-800-XFinity and they manually added it. Not getting full speed yet but much improved over Blast speed before: http://stage.results.speedtest.co...694844.png
  • Ft Wayne, IN 46825 - Called 1-888 Number and within 36 hours got the upgrade. http://stage.results.speedtest.co...761004.png
  • Chicago, IL 60609 - Called 888-228-0063, lady answered, told her about the promo, looked up my account. Said that I will be getting the bump within 24 hours, 30 mins later I rebooted modem: Before - http://stage.results.speedtest.co...708564.png ; After - http://stage.results.speedtest.co...841744.png Happy Camper
Orland Park, IL (near Orland Park) - Called the 888 number and they said it wasn't going through, some weird error. I told them to document it on the account.
I then called customer service and told them to read the note on the account. Guy edited some boot files or something and bam!!! 117 mbps. - http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3555348908
Note: If you go through a recording of a confirmation of change for your account with the rep on the 888 number and they say it will take 24 hours, there's a good chance nothing will happen. Make sure that the change actually went through the account by tellin them you've called before and nothing happened last time. (Yes this means lie) Tell them to make sure it actually changed and went through. Good chance that they will say they are getting an error.
Also if your speeds arent going above 95 or so mbps be sure to check that your ethernet cable has 8 wires not 4[/B]
  • Westmont, IL 60559 Called PDF number, waited 30 hours, called back and they said they had to redo it. Waited a few more hours and reached out to Twitter support. Speed increase happened before Twitter responded. Before: http://stage.results.speedtest.co...936444.png After: http://stage.results.speedtest.co...050424.png $10 charge and credit was posted to my online bill, so it cost me nothing. WOOT
  • Kennesaw, GA 30152 - Had to call 1-800-XFINITY two days after calling the 1-888 number. Package was Blast Plus and the Comcast rep charged me $10/mo for the upgrade. http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=66452920&postcount=883 Results: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3338989080
  • Doraville, GA 30340 - 2 days after calling 888 number. From Blast to Extreme. http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3341200424
  • 3/1/2014 Wheaton, IL 60189 - Was told upgrade would happen within 30 minutes and it did. Went from Performance Package 25 to Blast Package 50. No extra fees associated. I asked why the promotion and the lady told me it was just a favor Comcast was doing. The upgrade is permanent as long as you keep service with Comcast. I used speedtest.net, and shaperprobe.dmg to test speeds. Of course both of those are traffic preferred and using speedof.me shows much lower but still my speed did increase. Thanks
  • Lake in the Hills, IL - Was Blast 50mb - Asked for Extreme 105mb - Did not pay $10 - Confirmed upgrade 3 hours after calling - http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3339590365

The upgrade should work for all users including internet only. If you are in these areas but not getting the speed boost, it is time to give Comcast a call.

To reboot, all you need to unplug the power of the modem, wait 10 secs, then plug back.

Received this letter from Comcast today, called I got the upgrade within few hours.
I'm located in Homestead, FL and this offer could be only for this area so YMMV.
Still waiting for Houston.

These offers are almost always market specific. Its going to depend what other services are in the area that are competing. Cant hurt to try. But most likey VERY YMMV

There is no other service is in the area. If Comcast buys Time Warner, I could see a very dark future for the customers.

For those that are getting the update, don't forget to upgrade your router to one with a Gigabit WAN port or your speed will top around 80-90Mbps.

Comcast and Time Warner do not operate in the same areas.
