You can get same product (a new one !!) from Staples for $75 (free shipping).... They have it currently for $119.99 (after 20$ rebate). They also have 20% off on everything that you can fit in a bag. Additonally, if you have Amex card you can sign up for Amex offer to get 25$ off 100$ purchase at Staples. Final math comes out to be :
139.99- (20$ rebate)- (20$ everything you can fit in bag)- (25$ Amex offer)= $75 +taxes +free shipping.
This is YMMV.... just wanted to share what I did last week.

It used to be free but now you pay fees. It's about $3-$4 a month. Not too bad.

I still have my brand new one that I received near Christmas for $75. I'm waiting for the Obi apocalypse to occur. I haven't been paying attention to that whole thing, has there been any other free solutions that have been suggested? My ooma is like a worst case scenario sort of deal.

I got two of these free after rebate: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applic...No=2551865

The service is $30 a year which is roughly around the same price for this.

Right now I have an Obi 100 hooked up with GV but we all know that's not gonna last.

what's my best option here?

1. Drop phone completely and get an unlimited cell plan.
2. See what plan Obi plans to offer.
3. netTALK for $30 a year ($2.5 a month)
4. Ooma for $4 a month + $80 device.
5. Something else I missed.

im wondering the same thing i have an obi and was wondering if they found a way to fix the google voice thing after march 15th? i really dont want to spend 4 dollars a month on a home line that i barely use plus 90 dollars for the hub.

I haven't tried either. I have heard some complaints about the quality of netTALK though.

I don't think netTALK has anything to do with Google Voice.
