This does not appear to be a "Sync" offer, but a targeted one found in your online account. No one below has reported seeing it on facebook or twitter.

Added it to my costco card

Added it under my Costco True Earnings card without a problem. --practicalme

Added it to Blue and Blue Cash Everyday cards (one of each.)

Added it to Hilton card, but none of my other 6 have it

According my Amex Offers (already accepted), it appears that it has been extended until May 31, 2014.
Updated offer details:

OFFER DETAILS
Spend a total of $5 or more on iTunes using your enrolled American Express Card by 5/31/14 and get a one-time $5 statement credit.
TERMS
Offer valid only for iTunes purchases; not valid for any other purchases of Apple products in-store or online. Offer valid only for purchases made with your enrolled Card. Please make sure that your enrolled Card is the payment method set for your iTunes account in order to redeem the offer. Enrollment is limited. Offer is non-transferable. Limit 1 statement credit per American Express online account. If you order an item during the offer period but it is not provided until after 5/31/14, it may not count towards determining whether your purchase qualifies for the offer. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 5/31/14, provided that American Express receives information from Apple about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from Apple until all of the items from your qualifying purchase have been provided by Apple. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the stmt credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with Apple. In addition, in most cases, you will not receive the stmt credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a 3rd party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it. Got this on my Amex Blue and Costco Amex. I use separate login names for each account, don't know if that helped receiving them on both accounts.

Is there tax on movie rentals? It's 4.99 so I'd need another cent to get Amex to recognize it as qualifying purchase.

UPDATE: There is no tax for California residents on movie rental, so $4.99 movie would not trigger the promotion. First time in my life I've wanted CA to tax me on something. ;-)

This is new wording in the offer details: Limit 1 statement credit per American Express online account.

I wonder what that actually means. It didn't used to have the words "online account."

This can be $5 spread out across multiple transactions right? Doesn't have to be one $5 single transaction. Or am I reading this wrong?

I seem to recall a $7 offer way back that didn't require $7 to be spent at once.
