I respectfully disagree. There is plenty of technology in a golf ball these days that influence distance. A lot of testing done with 'robot' arms have shown that different balls have different distance when swing speed and impact is controlled.
From my own experience, I feel that, I get more distance when I hit TM's RBZ Urethane.... compared to Titleists and other balls.
Just my humble opinion
I don't think I see very much of a difference when I play Pro V1's or V1x's or a ball I found in the woods. I can hit great shots with both and terrible shots with both. I think the softer balls tend to spin too much for me though. I think a lot of it is mental.
I just made a comment to a golfing buddy a few weeks ago about how I've never found one of these balls in the woods and never seen them in the bins at the local pawn shop. This MUST mean they fly incredibly straight, right? . In any case, I'm buying some just so I can try them out.
That's way Cool Dude.... I've just decided I'm going to join the Tour too!
I've got the Nike 20XI X golf balls now, so...
All I need is a Nike VR_S 9.5-degree (Graphite Design HD-7X) Driver, a Nike SQ Sumo 3-wood/13-degree Fairwood Wood, a Nike VR Pro 18-degree Hybrid,
a Nike VR Pro Cavity (3-6), VR Pro Combo (7-9) Irons, a Nike VR Pro 47-degree, 53-degree and 59-degree Wedges, a Nike Method 006 prototype Putter,
some Nike Golf apparel from the Performance line, and some Nike Golf Lunar control footwear...
and I too will be tearing it up !!!
