Dual Monitors using Intel HD Graphics

Devedander 8,844 826 March 5, 2014 at 03:47 PM
I need to replace some office PCs on a budget and they need to support dual monitors. Anyone know if this unit would support VGA and HDMI>DVI dual monitor output out of the box?

Thanks!

That's a really nice deal.
I just bought something near identical last week for a fair bit more, I'm sorry to say.
Anyhow, it has a VGA and an HDMI out, so it's ready for dual monitors, straight out of the box.

PS: I just double checked the invoice and it seems to be the identical model, only I bought it from Amazon for $319.99, but no tax and free shipping. I thought I'd paid more.
$320 delivered is pretty sweet for that machine (the price has gone up to $400 on Amazon [amazon.com])

Dual monitor should work fine with that.

Although if this is for a business I'd consider going with a Dell Outlet machine. The 20% coupon is still live and they have a few 4th gen i3s at $391 ($499 - 20%). You're going to get better graphics for dual monitor as well as improved mutli-thread performance (if any of your apps require it). Also 3 years next-day hardware warranty and Windows Pro (instead of home).

Thanks for the pointer, we are looking at budget first and foremost and this is an office that just does 90% of their business on websites and uses office so graphics and multithreading is mostly wasted on them.

Just a decent clock speed and might convince them to upgrade to SSDs.

OK I have had computers in the past where enabling the digital video out shut off the analog. But that was way back in the day so I was hoping it would be different by now.

It's plug and play now.
You can right click anywhere on the desktop and hit "Screen Resolution" and you'll have everything you need there when you have two screens hooked up, to decide which will be your main screen, the resolution of each one, which is to the left, which is to the right, etc.
