It's a whole new game, take another look if you originally wrote it off:

Note that a persistent online connection is still required despite removal of some online features, so for multiplayer you must buy one copy for each computer.

Usually ships within 2 to 4 weeks.

Auction houses will be permanently removed. All legendary items will be BIND ON ACCOUNT.

Too many people still butthurt they didn't clone D2 and call it D3. Regardless of what people say, D3 is a good game, you can easily get a hundred hours of gameplay out of, and for only 20 bucks it's worth it .

LoL, why would it get lower? Blizzard always manages the price of its games well. Starcraft 2 is still 40 bucks retail right now and only periodically goes on sale for 20 dollars.

D3 also has 50% xp right now until the release of the xpac. Combined with the new patch which fixed all the terrible issues with D3 (mainly being pay2win with the auction house), now's the best time to buy other than launch if you want to enjoy the game to the fullest.

Do yourselves a favor and try Path of Exile.....which completely free and no BS F2P model. Better than D3

Diablo 3 did sell for $10 at Microsoft Store for at least 2 days during Nov 2012.

Nah PoE isn't that great. I played back in beta and quit due to desync and the crappy crafting system they have. My accounts pretty wealthy due to legacy items though.

If you have no need for the items, I will gladly help you out Smilie

But I play both PoE and D3, and D3 is a much more linear simple gameplay - my wife loves to play it with me since she's not a big video game player, and it's very easy to drop in and drop out quickly. We tried PoE together (since it's free and all) but she found the skill tree and skill gem system a bit complicated for her - I ended up telling her what to pick most of the time (no fun for anybody), as she was overwhelmed with the long-term planning aspect.

About the desync - it's become much more smooth since release, and I don't experience the sync issues I did 3 months ago anymore. The crafting system, though, has largely stayed the same - if you didn't like it then, you won't now.

To go back on-topic, this is a great price for a very enjoyable game (for some). I bought a copy at release (MSRP) and one off eBay a few weeks ago ($25). It's not the best price ever, as I've seen people get it for $10 at the MS Store (lucky dogs), but now is a great time to start playing with the expansion releasing soon. Thanks OP!
