25,136 707 March 13, 2014 at 01:10 PM
This missing flight gets more bizarre every day. What do you think happened to it? Will it ever be found? Did it crash? Was it taken somewhere with all the passengers still on it?
Give your best ideas. Or your worst if you want to.

Officials: Malaysian plane may have flown long after last contact [cnn.com]

Malaysian authorities believe they have several "pings" of engine data from the airliner's service data system, known as ACARS, transmitted to satellites in the four to five hours after the last transponder signal, suggesting the plane is believed to have flown to the Indian Ocean, a senior U.S. official told CNN. That information combined with known radar data and knowledge of fuel range leads officials to believe the plane may have made it to that ocean, which is in the opposite direction of the plane's original route.

The news came after Vietnamese and Chinese search crews found nothing where Chinese satellite photographs released Wednesday showed large floating objects in the South China Sea.The spot is between Malaysia and Vietnam and not far from the plane's expected flight path.
China's State Administration for Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense described the images as showing "a suspected crash site."
But Chinese authorities later said the release of the satellite images was a mistake and that they didn't show any debris relating to the plane, Hishammuddin said.

Nothing strange going on here. Ermm

In all seriousness though, this whole situation is F-ed up and I feel bad for the families of those missing. The wave of emotions they must be feeling so far:

- Plane is gone - dismay
- Plane was spotted on radar 300 miles away - hope
- Just kidding, that report was false - dismay
- Boat captain saw plane go down in flames - more dismay
- Families trying loved ones got ringing phones (not straight to voicemail) - hope
- Chinese see possible wreckage on satelite - dismay
- Engines sent signals that they were running 4 hours after last contact - hope!!!
- Reports of engines sending signals was not true - crushing dismay

This last one is the worst. I thought I heard the report come from American officials but then a Malaysian official said it wasn't true and I read an article saying as much yet CNN is still reporting it as true...

Well, he did create the supposed 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center. And many believe that an airliner isn't what hit the Pentagon. And that flight 93 didn't really crash in a field in Pennsylvania. So that means that flight 93 and Flight 77 both disappeared somewhere with all crew and passengers as part of the conspiracy.

Maybe the Malaysia flight ended up in the same place with all the passengers still alive.

Shocking

The problem is there are too many people from too many countries talking to the media and there are too many 'journalists' who are willing to publish anything without vetting the comments first.

The only thing anyone knows for sure at this point is the plane is no longer in the air. Whether it came down in small pieces or hit the water (or land) as a mostly intact plane and where it hit are the only things we don't know yet. At the rate this circus is proceeding, it may be a long time, if ever, that we have answers.

All the news reports I've seen/heard have stressed the incompetence of the Malaysian authorities. My guess is that one of their pilots went bonkers or their maintenance people ignored a known issue, and they don't want the world to know what happened. It's better for the Malaysians for the plane to be "missing" than for the world to hear what's on the cockpit voice recorder or to find a stress-cracked fuselage.

Everyone knows it's right where the Chinese accidentally shot it down.
