Example deal after $10 off $30:
Groupon is offering $10 off your purchase of a single Groupon valued at $30+, when purchased through their iOS and Android mobile applications. Other than the $30+ requirement, there are no restrictions on what the discount may be used on. There is no code as the discount is automatically reflected at checkout. This discount cannot be stacked with any other codes.
After performing a fresh install of the Groupon app on one of my devices, I was greeted with a pop-up (screenshot ) at the top of the screen which read, "New App Discount - $10 off any deal of $30 or more using your new app! Hurry - offer ends in 24h." If you already have the Groupon App downloaded, simply uninstall and reinstall the app. On Android, I ran into a problem with my Galaxy Note 8 remembering me despite the uninstall/reinstall. Long story short, to solve this problem I went to Settings --> Application Data --> Clear Data and I was able to replicate the discount again. I'm no longer an iOS guy, so I can't offer much assistance other to say I was able to take advantage of this discount on my daughter's iPad 1st Generation.
Through the mobile application, purchase two-pack of 32GB Samsung Micro-SDHC Class 6 Memory Cards for $24.99 ($34.99 - $10/$30+ discount) +tax with free shipping! Now, I'm not sure how many people still need this memory card after it's been Frontpage three times in the past two months. However, this deal is extra slick at $12.50/ea +tax (reminder: you must purchase the two-pack for this deal to work.) For reference, here are the most recent FP deals on this same memory card:
- Jan 19, 2014 - Buydig.com / $18/ea / +50 TU
- Feb 10, 2014 - Buydig.com / $17/ea / +70 TU
- Feb 20, 2014 - Buydig.com / $17/ea / +48 TU
Quote from Groupon.com :
Samsung 32GB Micro-SDHC High Speed Class 6 Memory Cards
Slip one of these Samsung micro-SDHC cards into a maxed-out tablet or smartphone to give yourself extra room for apps, movies, and music. The tiny cards each hold 32GB of data, which they ferry back and forth at speeds of up to 24Mbps. Despite their minuscule proportions, the cards are highly resilient, protecting their contents from water, shock, magnets, and x-rays.
Limit 3 per person, may buy 2 more as gifts. Free returns. Does not ship to AK/HI/Canada/Puerto Rico. Most orders are delivered within 7 business days from the purchase date. Does not ship to PO boxes. See return policy. Must pay applicable tax and provide name and shipping address at checkout, which will be shared to facilitate shipping. 5 year warranty from Samsung. Goods sold by Groupon Goods. See the rules that apply to all deals.
So it appears the majority of problems with replication are on iOS devices. Below are a few articles on potential ways of erasing app data on your iOS devices so that you're able to replicate the deal.
Basic Method - Try this 1st:
How to Delete App Data on an iPhone
For those of you with older devices (i.e. iPad 1st gen):
How to Delete Application Data in iOS 5
For those of you with auto backups to iCloud:
Deleting App Data from iCloud
**App data is saved in iCloud even after app is deleted from device.
If all else fails & you have $$ to spend (Free version should work fine though):
PhoneClean for Windows or Mac
If youre iDevice is jailbroken I'd suggest using iFunbox, iExplorer, or a UDID faker from Cydia.
For all my Android users, make sure that you are tapping "Clear Data"...not "Clear Cache." If you're rooted there's a great Xposed Framework module called XPrivacy which allows you to edit app permissions and spoof all of your information. I've used this module multiple times today on this deal, without fail.
AN OBSERVATION ABOUT CHECKOUT IF YOU ARE NOT SEEING THE DISCOUNT APPLIED:
There are two ways to check out and only one seems to apply the deal. This was my experience on android and ymmv, but this may help some of you who I read weren't seeing the discount applied.
When I clicked on a item, it gave me two boxes at the bottom, "Add to Cart" or "Buy Now!"
As I wasn't completely sure if the "Buy now!" button was a one-click purchase (it's not). I chose the "Add to Cart" button, then went to my cart. It did not show the discount. So I went back and tried the "Buy Now!" button. It took me directly to the cart and applied the $10 discount. I was still able to review, then confirm the order before submitting. So use the "Buy Now!" button and not the "Add to Cart" button. Hope this helps some of you.
