got two suits - both beautiful suits, though only one came with the bag. The other was in a plastic wrap with a broken hangar. Terrible - will try to sort this out.

boat shoes - meh

wingtips - nice

4 medium stretch polo's - ??? are these polos for ANTS? when i pulled them out and sized them up, they looked like they'd fit my wife. I usually wear medium and sometimes even small, but these are smaller than any small I've worn.

Will try to exchange for one size up Frown

got medium polo shirts as well and im about 6 to 6'1" and they fir very nice but i did like the small ones better as they are more tighter but the length seems the same with the medium..

What's the consensus on exchange? If you need one size up is it processed at the same price or do they create a new order and charge you full price? What about the same item but different color? I have a few items I either want a larger size or different color, but same item numbers.. Does anyone have experience with exchanging? If they will charge full price I'll simply return those items.

You can exchange it with no fees at their B&M locations if you didn't pay with paypal. Or you can exchange it via shipping but you have to pay for shipping expenses I think. Some terrible reviews on yelp though on their B&M stores. Here are some reviews from my nearest Ralph Lauren stores:

First reviewer:
"So this is where the nice things stopped for me. If you aren't the typical shopper they usually see (white, fit, middle aged, dressed in nice clothes, with a spouse) they immediately start judging you.

And there's me, a slightly overweight asian in his 20s, wearing cheap shorts, nike shoes, and a "Cali" t-shirt that I bought for 6 dollars. So maybe I didn't fit the profile they usually expect when you get someone who's willing to spend money. So what's the first thing they usually do when they see someone they suspect to be poor? Of course! Let's ask them WHY IN THE WORLD are you in this store?"

Well the part that concerns me is this line in their online exchange policy:

Returned items for exchange will be credited to the original form of payment and a new order will be placed for replacement item(s). Availability of replacement item is not guaranteed. You will receive an e-mail notification upon the completion of exchange processing.


That seems to imply that they will refund the original items and then simply create a new order at full retail price. So in the end it wouldn't be a real exchange but simply a return/rebuy. I think I'll have to end up simply returning unless someone confirms you don't get charged retail for exchanges.

I placed 2 orders for 6 polos, 1150pm and 1210am CST, got confirm email and still waiting for ship notice. Thanks OP!! I was about to buy a few more polos for work, good thing I procrastinated. I was going to look into a few suits as well, but did not want to waste time and quickly picked out the polos I needed.
I'm 5'6", and it's hard for me to find a perfect fitting shirt right off the rack, but I have a few of their Custom Fit polos and it fits me perfectly, like a glove with some wiggle room. Their Classic runs too baggy on me. I was going to venture and try to order a few Slim fits in addition to the Custom fits, but time was of the essence and I did not want to chance it seeing as how the Custom was already fitted to me.

Ya I got some medium slim-fit Polo Shirts that are way too small .... I called the rep and each time same BS story ... If you want to exchange they will simply return the these create a new order and charge you full price for the ones you want !!! so not a real exchange.

Unless someone else called and got different answer !!!

I'm just curious. Why all the whining on a deal obviously not meant for those who don't work for or normally purchase Ralph Lauren goods? You scored a deal not meant for you, then you bitch after abusing it?

Entitled much?

Why not just set up a trade thread for others in the same boat, perhaps like you they got items that don't fit them but might fit you. Only cost is shipping, and if you can agree on that you still scored a great deal.

The obvious question is: Would you trust a fellow SDer who shares the same deal-abusing mentality as you to trade with 100% integrity?

What if the trade item had a little snag or rip in the seams? You gonna provide full disclosure to your trading partner? You gonna discount the value of your trade item to accommodate?

Or you can always go to the store, try to return and rebuy, get asked for your employee ID to verify the discount and get embarrassed as your tail wedges between your legs while scurrying out?

Or maybe you can use the ever-popular "I got this as a gift" excuse, but somehow never manage to keep the gift receipt as proof that it was a gift.

I'm all for scoring a great deal, even those that border on grey areas. But if the purchasing mistake is mine because I didn't perform my due diligence, its much safer for my rep and anonymity to just move on to the next deal.

Find an alternative way to move unwanted goods as others have stated so you don't have to cry about getting slicked on your original slick deal.

Okay, I'm getting off the soap box now, flame me if you must. But please think about how best to not bring attention to the fact you scored a shady deal before you respond. That would probably help everyone better than the whining. Thanks.
