Make sure this isn't the version that has no backlight controller. If it is, the contrast ratio is badly crushed if you dim the screen.

When will the trust be rebuilt for Rakuten? Practically every deal posted for them has complaints of credit card theft/leakage/hackage. Has anyone had recent issues? Seems like complaints are on a downward trend at least.

It seems akin to the Hitachi "Deathstar" people who still don't trust Hitachi Deskstar drives after years of revisions.
