Thread Details

I just booked an International flight on CheapOAir since it was at least $250 cheaper per ticket than any other booking site. This is the first time I've used them and have a 4hr (free) & 24Hr (with fee) cancellation period and was wondering if this site is legit and reliable or if there any 'gotchas'

I've never booked a flight with them internationally, but I've booked domestically with them and didn't have any issues. Perhaps someone on here has some recent experience with their international policies.

If I were you I'd enter your confirmation # on the website of whatever carrier you're travelling to make sure they have it. If they do I think you'd be ok but I haven't even heard of cheapoair.

The email, they sent to me, did not have the Airline's confirmation number but only their Booking number, but they did have e-tick number. So I called the Airline and gave them the passenger info and the ticket number and they have the booking confirmed on their (Airline) system.

I have booked through them twice and it works OK. Sometimes even you only has the airline's eticket number, you can still use it to find out the confirmation number on the airline's website.

Glad to hear that it looks like your reservation was successful. Good job with the low fare fine and have a great trip!

Thanks. After I booked, I searched and found so many negative comments on Trip Advisor and got really worried. Felt better after confirming that the Airline had the booking confirmed and they gave me the Airline's confirmation number. Comfort

I’ve tried CheapOair when I was looking for a cheap international flight from Hong Kong to Philippines. Total was just a little less compared to others but I got $50 cash back which made it a great deal. On top of that, there were no extra or hidden charges in my credit card statement. Wherever you are travelling, I hope you’d have a great time!

I wouldn't bother. I used cheapoair once before and I got royally screwed traveling internationally. Be careful if traveling between airlines with cheapoair. I arrived late to my connection and the second airline would not accommodate the delay caused by the first. I was told to speak with the booking agency to solve the problem.

When I got on the phone with cheapoair they refused a refund after being left on hold purposefully for four hours. I ended up booking a flight and paying the premium for last minute ticketing, not to mention the fact that I ended up getting to my destination almost 20 hours later than expected.

I had to use BBB and American express to pressure them into a refund almost 3 months later. Remember that these guys are a small business based out of India and they will not lose a dollar on you to make sure you stay happy. They (in my experience) are more than willing to screw you to prevent any financial loses to themselves. I know a lot of airlines can be the same way about accommodating passengers, but by far cheapoair was the worst by a long shot.

My experience might have been atypical, but it doesn't seem like it considering the number of bad reviews they have on various websites.

Lol just realized how old this post is. My bad!
