This is not the same as the Ultimate bundle, which allows Importing of previous year's tax return and other perks.

Does TaxACT just work for simple returns or does it allow if you have investments? How does it compare to TurboTax?

We've been using TA for 5 years and we typically pay $13/yr. Having used the other two popular software packages, we returned to TA as we couldn't identify any advantage with them and they are far more costly. We even file a sched.C and several other forms associated with a home based business. Keep in mind that none of these packages are a one stop shop especially when considering depreciation schedules etc. We complete the forms by hand and then run the data through TA and note any differences. If differences can be resolved, we e-file with TA. If not, we paper file and consider the$13 well spent for a second opinion.
