Almost Wink This is comparable to the HD/Lowes Memorial Day pricing for last year but not quite as good as what Walmart has done in the past for that weekend. Hopefully we'll see even lower prices from them when we get a little closer to that time.

My usual shoddy historical data for recent years....

2014 Spring Black Friday at Home Depot:
2x20lb @ 12.88 ==> 32.20 cents/lb

2014 Spring Black Friday at Lowes:
4x20lb @ 20.78 ==> 25.98 cents/lb *price mistake, must purchase online

This current Walmart Deal:
2x18lb @ 8.98 ==> 24.94 cents/lb

2013 Lowes Labor Day Sale:
2x20lb @ 12.88 ==> 32.20 cents/lb

2013 Home Depot Labor Day Sale:
2x20lb @ 12.88 ==> 32.20 cents/lb

Some got the above for a 9.88 price:
2x20lb @ 9.88 ==> 24.70 cents/lb

2013 4th of July Home Depot Sale:
2x20lb @ 12.88 ==> 32.20 cents/lb

2013 4th of July Walmart Sale:
2x15lb @ 7.98 ==> 26.60 cents/lb

2013 4th of July Lowe's Sale:
2x20lb @ 9.99 ==> 24.98 cents/lb

2013 Memorial Day Home Depot / Lowes Deal
2x20lb @ 9.99 ==> 24.98 cents/lb

2013 Memorial Day Walmart Deal:
2x15lb @ 6.98 ==> 23.27 cents/lb

2012 Memorial Day Home Depot deal:
2x13.9lb @ 5.88 ==> 21.15 cents/lb

2012 Memorial Day Walmart deal:
2x15lb @ 5.48 ==> 18.27 cents/lb

2011 Memorial Day Academy Deal
2x16.6lb @ 7.97 ==> 24.01 cents/lb

2011 Memorial Day Walmart Deal
2x16.6lb @ 7.50 ==> 22.59 cents/lb

2011 Memorial Day Lowes Deal
2x16.6lb @ 7.48 ==> 22.53 cents/lb

2010 Memorial Day Lowes Deal
2x16.6lb @ 8.48 ==> 25.54 cents/lb

2010 Memorial Day Home Depot Deal
1x18lb @ 4.49 ==> 24.94 cents/lb

Thanks for doing the research. This is the one I was thinking of. This is still a great price, but I have enough from the last two memorial days to last until this upcoming one.

There are a few of us. Smoking and grilling year round. Last haul was 360 lbs. from Lowes.

I'm down to my last bag from last Memorial Day. Might have to go pick up 100 pounds or so to tide me over. Got ribs to grill!

No problem. The only research involved was hunting down the last time I posted the list. LMAO

There's a lot of us like myself and jfluckey that try to stock up for the entire year or more during these Spring/Memorial Day sales. I've been known to test the load carrying capabilities of my poor little Civic and/or the Walmart cart from time to time. Wink

Saw them unloaded pallets of the double-packs last week around the garden center area... wondered what the deal was going to be. Thanks!

I'm down to about 110-120 lbs in storage; time to re-stock!

I purchased the Blue Rhino propane $25 gift card deal and then used it towards to the purchase of the charcoal.

Wanted to see about a price match at HD/Lowes but they have the 20lbs bags, not the 18lbs....
