I don't think it's available in the states yet. But i know you can find them on ebay, although they cost around $900 or $1000

Weird, it says I am eligible for upgrade, but when I select to upgrade my phone and keep my current plan (which is grandfathered into unlimited) it is trying to force me into selecting one of their crappy data plans....Grrrrrrr

I ran into similar situation when trying to upgrade my phone to GS4 with ATT. The problem with grandfathered plan is that you risk losing the status if you don't do the upgrade through the carrier (ATT or Verizon etc). There were deals around, but I ended up paying a higher price at a ATT store just to keep the unlimited plan. Just FYI. If you find a solution, do share for future reference.

If you're with Verizon there isn't a solution. The grandfathered unlimited data plans can't be renewed. It's been that way for several years now. Your only option is to either pay full price for the phone, give up the unlimited plan, or hope for another screw up like the one in September of last year which let you upgrade and keep the plan. I was lucky enough to be eligible for an upgrade on all my lines when that hit. My only regret was not using the upgrade on my line to pre-order a Note 3 instead of playing the safe route and getting the S4 that was in stock.

That is absolutely correct. The only way the grandfathered plan can be renewed is by buying a phone at the full (unsubsidized) price- then you can keep the unlimited plan. But at a $500+ difference, that's hardly worth it.

If you are with ATT, just call CSR to reinstate the unlimited plan. Worked last time for me. I called ATT before upgrading from Walmart to make sure that I can get my unlimited plan back once I activate the phone.
