Or, if you aren't Catholic, disregard. Not everyone practices that faith and doesn't need to abide by the rules of said Faith.

And if you want to get technical, you're supposed to fast on Good Friday. Meaning, no snacking, and only one full meal during the day which does not include any meat items. However, dairy, eggs, fish, and any animal fat (during cooking process) is OK.

:whisper: us Catholics aren't the only religion that celebrates Good Friday. a majority of Christian-based religions celebrate Good Friday (Anglican. Lutheran, Catholics, Orthodox Christians, etc).

As both a protestant and a catholic, I never understood the no meat thing. It isn't biblical.

Right, I know. Though, I didn't think that other Faiths chose to abstain from meat on Friday's in Lent. Dontknow I guess I can only speak to the Catholic Catechism.

it's not that simple and straight forward. how much are you aware of the practice of catechism?

most biblical books were written and published long after the practice of fasting by the Catholic church. thus, it being an unwritten practice by Catholics since the church was first founded. kind of like the 1 urinal rule in the men's room. it isn't written anywhere, it's just known men's room etiquette.

/yes, I just compared men's room etiquette to religion

When he said "biblical" he meant the Bible - there is only 1 of those.

Eating meat isn't a sin. Paul/Peter pretty much covered that.
