Got some cell phone that says $0. Hopefully it will qualify for $20.

Do they test for "working"? I have a Kindle 3 that I dont use that I THINK just needs a new battery...so I wouldnt be able to prove it worked without buying a new battery (and thus negating the deal).

Sounds like Best Buy is finally getting into the business of broken dreams and stolen goods.

Best Pawn, once they announce its grand opening, might actually have some good deals.
Isnt that why they take your ID and document/tag everything that comes in so if it gets flagged they trace it back to you. Must be tough working the Best Buy trade in racket.

Very unlikely they will probably require it to boot at least so "oh yeah just toss in a new battery good as new" wont cut it.

Come on you guys. When Best Buy announces a promo like this where they offer a minimum of $20 for laptops and tablets, you don't scrounge around your house for useful stuff to trade in. You go and try to find garbage for <$5 to trade in to make Best Buy pay for trying to be a smartass. So, anybody know of any garbage that sells for <$5 to trade in?

i cant wait till the stores open so we can find out whats "qualifying products" but if it's like their past promos when they accepted generic no name craps, it wont be hard to find some cheap mp3 players and cameras for under $5. think discount stores, clearance bins, big lots, swap meet, etc

Wow. What's so special about this mp3 player? The thing is probably eight years old

I was reading the faqs' on this. It says it must be something they sold at 1 time. Limit 3 items per day. Only 3 of the same item every 6 months.

Don't forget that if you don't need to buy anything at BB - you can always use BB GC to buy Amazon GC - and spend this $20x? at Amazon.

Holy Heck! My Zen Nano Plus 1GB [bestbuy.com] mp3 player is on the list (for $0). That means it qualifies right?!
Ha, so funny you mention this specific player. I sold mine via Amazon on 09/08/2013 for $55 with a USB cable and no headphones. Cheapest one right now is $65 [amazon.com]. You could also just trade it in to Amazon for ~$30.
