Lowest price according to camel x3. I've been waiting for it to drop since the last time it was around this price.

Hopefully we'll start to see more affordable capsules soon too! (http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/18....html?_r=0)

I recant my last statement. They are discontinuing that model because it malfunctions. FYI.

The milk frother alone is 99$. So the coffee maker is essentially just $50.

Oh no! I posted the last U bundle deal for $149 (I think it was the last/most recent one). I have been using my U at least 6x a week since I received it in mid-February. It's been great! The only issue it has (that I've noticed so far) is that it is not very compatible with non-Nespresso capsules. The machine is unable to pierce the plastic HiLine capsules and although works with cheaper grocery-store brands purchased in Paris on a recent trip, I have noticed it does not dispense a consistent amount of espresso - for instance, I push the button for lungo (~ 4 oz) and it probably dispenses 2 oz and causes the machine to drip out the spout for a half a minute before dropping the capsule into the waste container. It's been fine for Nespresso capsules though. Is the malfunction you heard of related to the capsules?

I tried the HiLine Soho capsules and the machine was unable to pierce through the foil top of those capsules. I heard that HiLine has since updated their design - or at least has a few roasts with an updated design (not sure which) - so that the tops are pre-pierced and would work with the U... I think HiLine is currently the cheapest non-Nespresso disposable capsule in the US, but I did notice in Paris grocery stores there were A LOT of compatible capsules! I only purchased 2 kinds because I was not sure if they would work with the U, but it gives me hope that there will be more compatible products soon!

Looks like Amazon also has a variety of refillable capsules if you're into that kinda thing http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb...vascript=1

and... if you are really thrifty and don't mind a little extra work... http://www.instructables.com/id/R...easy-and-/ laugh out loud

How does this compare to the Delonghi Latissima Plus I've been eyeing on amazon (for way more!) ?

Where do you get this information from? This unit seems to get great reviews from people that have it. I'd expect more bad reviews if it really malfunctioned more than other Nespresso units.
