The Lenovo servers are a much better value especially given the expandability of the system. IE Really low level processor

Considering the HDD this is a better deal from the last posting and about the same as the one from two months ago.

This is a great little server IMO - I have three so far and use it for a home lab.

Agreed, I'd rather have the additional $50 off and provide my own drive(s)

Am running it perfectly with www.openmediavault.org as NAS . Quit, fast , low power and high performance.

No, I use VMM (Hyper-V). I add 8GB of memory to it and it handles itself reasonably well for a $400 investment (I use an SSD as well - so $50 for the SSD and $100 for an 8GB ECC stick).

Considering the TDP of 54w, G3220 is not a ideal candidate for NAS when there are other candidates with much lower TDP. It's is a overkill for xenology.

This is a better deal than most realize. The T20 has a motherboard with C226 chipset. Those boards alone cost $200+. Also, people who jumped on this earlier reported that the 4GB RAM is ECC. Maybe spend $50 on another stick of 4GB ECC to make it even better.

This is perfect for a ZFS NAS, where ECC is key. Throw in some drives, install Ubuntu, setup ZFS, Samba, ownCloud, and Plex Server, and you have an awesome home server that does way more than NAS boxes that cost twice as much - plus the data protection benefits of ECC and ZFS.
