Great price for an awesome product. This model usually sells for $100-$110.

I use mine to make matcha tea and occasionally, instant noodles. The color may look pinkish in pictures, but it's actually a "titanium" color in person.

...This water boiler is a piece of crap!!! I maintain it real good clean it every month and the result was the costing peeling off I have to stop using it because I don't know what's material made for. I don't want take a risk as I use the hot water for my baby. This item only last 2 years then you have to search something else no worth of money from 4 stars back to zero. I wish there's negative stars

My great great grandparents had one of these devices. Except they called it a "pot and stove".

I picked up this cordless kettle a few years ago for like $30. There are many similiar currnet models for around that same price (mine appears to be discontinued, I only found this "used" ad). For tea, it seems like a much more useful, practical, easy to use thing than this zojirushi. Not to mention it is only 1/3 the price of this "deal."

In fact it may be better than this because it has more temperature choices, is easier to dispense (it's a cordless kettle, just lift it off base), and finally the inside is all stainless steel.

No, the coating cannot be removed unless you use something abrasive. Citric acid is the only thing required for maintenance.

Do you have a model/brand? Zojirushi definitely builds top-of-the-line home appliances (rice cookers, water boilers, etc.), so they typically command a price premium.

Did they explain how they were cleaning it? Maybe an abrasive scouring pad and AJAX (not baby friendly) and other very abrasive materials that would mess up just about any surface? Or did they use a sponge and mild solution? What is their definition of maintaining it "real good clean"? Definitely they could use a grammar check on their next review though.
