Fixed, my apologies. Submitted after getting ahead of myself with the other product detail info. I try to be complete in my posts, then I ended up being incomplete, lol.

You can undo the "incorrect information" vote now. laugh out loud

Why couldn't they make it 500W? Most GPU requires 500W.

Does anyone happen to know how this compares to the Corsair 430W?

How is this compared to the Corsair CX 430 that was the same price?

Not as good as the Corsair CX430 in most cases. At least 4 RMA reports among these 16 reviews, and a few others saying it failed PowerMax(whatever that is).
There are hundreds of reviews for the CX430 and I've gotten the rebate from the Corsair power-supply at least 2 times(probably 3 or 4 in the last 3 years) that I can remember for 2 or more separate purchases in the past. This power supply looks good, but it may be a similar factory producing the same power supply build as the CX430 but aren't up to the same level of quality yet as the Corsair factory.

My 7th power supply failed after running for only about 2 hours. Didn't even get the OS completely installed.

Other Thoughts: RMA back to NEWEGG, however it sucks that I have to spend $15.00 to send it back to them for what was effectively a DOA product.

Cons: Only 2 SATA connectors on a 430 Watt PSU is silly. I would have passed on this PSU, had I known. There are only 2 - 4 pin molex connectors, also.

If you have more than two drives, this is not the PSU for you.

Cons: Rebate. Another rebate where you better make sure you dot every I and cross every t because they will try to find and excuse to deny it. My printer was low on ink, but I checked the invoice before sending and know for a fact that everything was readable. They still tried to say that they were unable verify the date on the invoice and denied my rebate the first time.

Cons: Failing and must be replaced after 28 days, no 12V showing on boot Health report

Other Thoughts: Bought 3, 1st RMA'd because PowMax test failed.
Then called EVGA who said it's okay, go ahead and use it, so I figured my PowMax was fried.
This #2 failed PowMax also, but used it and all was well but then began repeated unannounced shutdowns on both XP and Linux.

Cons: Was Dead from the start.
Quote :
Cons: It fails the pre-installation test with my ProMax tester, so no way am I willing to hook it into my new build.

Other Thoughts: Darn, and I was SO ready to put it together after days of chosing the components. It should never have left the factory, where it could NOT have been checked! I even tested my ProMax on another PS to make sure that it's still working right.
Quote :
Cons: Not really a con, more of an observation: one 6+2 PCI-E connector limits you in terms of graphics cards. For the newer cards this isn't an issue. For cards like the GTX 295 though you'll need the molex adapter

What "most GPUs" are you talking about? My whole rig with GeForce GTX 460 & core i7-2600k uses 45W idle, up to 200W while playing games.
