Wells Fargo World Propel Comes With A $500 Cash Bonus ($700 In Travel) 3k Spend In 3 Months Required
Deal DetailsLast Edited by mlacey3 May 5, 2014 at 12:43 PM
Wells Fargo Propel World American Express
- 40,000 points after $3,000 in spend within the first three months
- up to $100 in reimbursements for airline incidental charges (e.g food and beverage on a flight, baggage fees)
- 3x points on all airline purchases, 2x points on all hotel purchases
- No annual fee first year, then $175
Points can be redeemed at 1c = 1 point for statement credit or a check, making the 40k points worth $400 (plus the $100 in incident airline charges to bring us to $100). You can also redeem them for airline tickets, it's supposed to also be 1c = 1 point, but for some reason it turns out to be more like 1.5c = 1 point. You do have to pay a $24 booking fee though.
This is a great card for those of us who already have way too many miles/points. Probably wouldn't hear too much about this from the bloggers because there is no affiliate commission.
They also launched the Propel 365 which has a smaller sign up bonus of 20,000 points after $3k in spend and 3x on gas, 2x on restaurants.
WF's site was down for several days and I called yesterday to book a flight over the phone and they would only redeem the points for 1 to 1. I just checked today and the website is back up and running but the points redemption has also been updated to 1:1.
This on for US Permanent Resident.. If you are not don't waste your time applying for it as they will hit you credit and than reject saying you are not a permanent resident.

For "Up to $100 in reimbursements for airline incidental charges", buying gift card from airlines website works. Users reported that they got "$100 AIRLINE BENEFIT CREDIT" for Southwest, United and American Airlines.
