He is referring to the intel retail edge program where intel offers their products at huge discounts to people who work in retail, they have to take online training and few courses. From what I read you do have to submit proof of employment.

You do, and it's pretty great. A nice perk for working a pretty crappy sales associate job. If you can get on board, don't hesitate. Their Summer and Winter sales aren't the only things they have to offer.

The question is...which one to buy? Who thinks the 4930K is worth an extra ~$90 over the 4770K after tax and shipping?

Nice, just hit rockstar status as of a few days ago, and this definitely makes it worth the time I spent!

Anyone have any suggestion for a low to medium end mobo to go with the 4770k? I'd like to overclock it some, but nothing too serious... budget of around ~$75-$100.

$100 can get you a wide selection of good boards. There was that asrock fatality deal not to long ago for $95. if you're into OCing I would look into asus and gigabyte, they're usually pretty good at overclocking. MSI has gone downhill for me except their gpus are still decent. Anyways my ranking is Asus > gigabyte/asrock > msi. Apologies for not directing you to a specific board but $100 is a pretty decent budget and that takes the fun out of researching your own build. personally I would up the budget to $120. good luck

FWIW ASRock is ASUS' value brand.
