A $69 annual fee is applied to the first billing statement, so make sure to subtract that from the ~$500 value of the two roundtrip tickets. Still a pretty good deal for only a $2K spend, that equates to about 20% cash back if you cut it off right at $2K.

The real value is the companion pass tbh. Doubles the value of the points.

I just looked into this, and I don't think we'd accumulate enough points to earn a companion pass, even starting off with 50,000. Isn't it still a good deal just for the 50,000 points for $69? I'm contemplating either this card or the one from wells fargo that can get you up to $500 cash back with no fee.

Our companion passes expire at the end of the year and my wife and I still have both cards (personal & business). So now what, cancel them and reapply? It will be a year since we were approved in September.

You can apply to two (personal and business) for 100k +4k min spend. Only need 6k at that point for companion pass.

Apply for the ones you don't each have (if you have plus get premier) of a personal and business. Each count as a different card so there are 4 varieties.

Now that is sounding better! I saw articles on how to boost points, but none made it clear if you earn eligible points on any spend (like at the grocery store), or just on the ones with extra points like car rentals (which we almost never do).

I applied for the Southwest Premier card last month and was instantly approved. My credit score is great (750+ ). I got denied for the Business Premier card because they said my "business" wasn't established (I told them I had an ebay business for about a month). Today I applied for the Plus card and I get a decision pending. I'm pretty sure it's pending because I've applied for too many cards to try and get the Companion Pass. I was asked to call-in. Should I be prepared for any questions they may ask? What's the best way to handle this? Do I even tell them that I'm applying to get the 50,000 pts?

EDIT: I just called in and they just needed additional verification since I applied for the Premier card. Got approved.
