OFFER EXTENDED TO 7/7/14.

Please don't thumbs down because of your feelings about how a Prius looks or drives. Just passing along the info.

For Northern California, there's a $4,000 rebate from Toyota (it's only $3,000 in Southern California) and 0% APR for 60 months. There's a $1,500 rebate for California clean vehicles:

https://energycenter.org/clean-ve...te-project

and there's a $2,500 federal tax credit.

The going price for a Prius plug in is $25,769 because of the $4,000 Toyota rebate at truecar.com, but after you factor in the California clean vehicle and federal tax credits, you end up paying $21,769. That's about $600 less than a non-plug in Prius 3, which costs $22,314.

In other words, you get the same equipment as a regular Prius 3 + heated seats (which a Prius 3 does not have) + plug in capability for $600 less. Throw in 0% APR for 60 months, so you're borrowing money for free.

Governor Brown just signed SB853, the bill which includes the provision to increase the number of green HOV stickers to 55,000. As a budget trailer bill, it took effect upon signing, so GET YOUR GREEN STICKER ASAP! The CARB website has now been updated accordingly.

That's what I call a slickdeal.

Additional $2,000 rebate for San Joaquin county and some surrounding cities.

It also looks like they are amending the bill for 70,000 (previously 80,000) stickers since the limit of 40,000 has already been reached.

FYI, for those outside CA, some states have similar or even higher incentives:
Maryland area (and possibly others) currently have $4500 incentive, which is even better than the $4k CA incentive.

You can check incentives for nearby dealers here:
http://www.toyota.com/local-specials/

If you also happened to live in DC there's no state sales tax on EVs, which is about the best deal imaginable in combination with the Maryland incentive.

Here is a state-by-state benefits guides (the second is a general guide so not everything applies to PiP):

I do NOT recommend that anyone go to Autonation Hayward. I started there and worked with Nasa, Vinnie and Ali. My experience there was horrible despite it starting out okay. If you want to read details of my experience there, read my review on page 28 of this thread. Besides, they only have one PIP left. I strongly recommend Mark in Dublin. Great selection and he won't screw you over like Hayward.

I got it for 24229 + TTL from Frontier Toyota, Valencia
The name of the person there who sold us the car was Nik.

Great price but wish the green carpool lane stickers were still available. Does not have the best all electric range but it is sufficient for short trips around town without having to use gas.

usually leases (according to the chevy dealer in town that I spoke with) are negotiated with the lender to pass some of the savings of the rebate down onto you.

Added 0% APR for 60 months to the title and edited the first post accordingly. That's a steal, plain and simple.

Toyota rebates vary by region so it's based on your zip code. $2500 federal tax credit is US wide. California rebate is for California only. Your local state may have other incentives.

You get the $2,500 federal tax credit if you lease or buy. In California, you get the $1,500 rebate if you lease or buy.

There's also a $2000 rebate if you're in San Joaquin air pollution control district boundaries.

Agreed, too bad about the green stickers. But nevertheless, you'll still save at least 6 cents per mile for the first 11 miles compared to a regular gas Prius because of electric only operation. After that, you're at par with a regular Prius.

I'll gladly take 66 cents saved per day, because if you drive at least 11 miles a day, you'll save $240.90 every year, thanks to the plug-in feature which cost you NOTHING. If you have free charging stations, you'll save even more.

It takes 3 hours to fully recharge using a standard 120V outlet. So you don't have to do anything special at all.
