Looks like this deal is back again from a few weeks ago
I am in Indiana and the deal is live
I bought almost 100 bags the last time and used the 10% coupon code

Though the 10 off of 50 is a better deal should you need that much
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Be prepared to wait a very long time at the store to pick up your mulch! Unlike other stores (like Sears), Lowes does not have a system for picking up online orders. You will be stuck waiting in the regular "Customer Service" line behind all the people with returns, questions, and problems. Large items like mulch won't be waiting for you (I was told that they were "all out of what I had ordered" despite the confirmation email I received that my order was ready). In the end, they did find some "in the back" but it took them another 20 minutes to locate it.

The personnel are nice; it's not their fault. But there is no system.

Before you place your online order, if you're not having it shipped to your home, decide if it's going to be worth the time and aggravation.

Is there still an active 10 off 50 code out there?

I bought 100 bags of the brown mulch and finished spreading them this past weekend. They're pretty poor quality, already quickly losing the brown color. Also, most if not all of the bags were wet and mostly decomposed. No trash or bugs though.

Next year I'm just going to get bulk.

would this attract termites if put near the home?

I would guess it would be a buffet line for termites. If you live in an area with a lot of termites, I'd be looking at using rocks or rubberized mulch.

It's gets really cold where I live so I don't mind using mulch around the house, as long as it's only up against the concrete of the house (and not against the siding).

Read the reviews of the mulch on Lowes website. Not good at all. I need some mulch but not going for this garbage.

This mulch is an incredible value for the price

having used both "higher end" as well as this product

I will say that there is a difference

This mulch is not as fine in composition as the better mulches. As if they dont "run it through" the process as many times
There were a few larger pieces in the mix occasionally as well
It holds color very well. I used the same stuff last year

Once down on the ground you would have to walk around and run your hands through it to tell the difference in it and more costly mulches

The price( with the coupon code) is less expensive than any bulk I have seen and its far more convenient to use the 2 cu ft bags than have to deal with a wheelbarrow on my hilly property

Thanks OP. I had brought 50 bags of the red mulch during the previous 5 for $10 sale. While I am not a mulch connoisseur, it seems adequate. As a first time homeowner, I grossly underestimated how many bags I would need. by the time I laid the 25 bags I purchased down and realized it was not going to cover the area, the price had shot back up. I'm glad I did not have to wait long for it to go back on sale. Purchased another 50 bags. Thanks for the heads up. Repped.

In again! Suggestion -- if you have cheap dump mulch, but it's ugly -- put down a layer of that crap first, then throw these on top. And while I don't know if it's effective, I just leave the plastic under the bag, cut open the top, spread out the plastic, and spread the mulch. Having a patchwork layer of plastic underneath can't hurt.

Termites really shouldn't be an issue as long as you 1.) don't currently have a termite problem, and 2.) don't use too much mulch.

Termites prefer decomposing wood that is almost always moist; while mulch does a good job of holding water and preventing evaporation, it doesn't (generally) stay damp enough unless you put it in too thickly.

As noted, never put it up against your siding, no matter what kind you have. Arguably, you shouldn't have it up against your foundation, either, but as long as you don't currently have a termite issue, that's probably okay.

So it does hold its color? Hmmm. I might try it since you have had success. The picture on the reviewers review totally turned me off. 3 for $10 at Home Depot for the better stuff or 5 for $10 - coupon at Lowes.. Choices, choices....

nice code still works as of 9:40 am west coast time.

I used this along with AMEX 10$ back of 50$

so spent 60$-10$ (code) + 4$(tax) -10$ (amex) = 1.47$ / a bag.

perfect timing. looking for this to cover a flowerbed that is no longer used for flowers lol
