Hmm, is RAM upgradeable? One Amazon review says yes while a past Slickdeal thread says no. Review says there is one extra slot that is open.

1920 res, ssd cache, backlit keyboard, 3lbs, good battery life...

A best buy review says the ram and HD are upgradeable, can someone confirm? The ASUS site is refusing to load on my phone.

All I can find, short of reading entirely through a 102 page thread, is that for sure the UX302LG is ram upgradeable, and both are HDD upgradeable although the 500GB is a hybrid and should be pretty decent.

In for one either way. 1080p IPS, good battery life, 3lbs... hits all the marks I have been looking for.

It is upgradeable, see my post here: http://www.zenbookforum.com/threa...kely.2827/

It's a bit of a pain, but worth it. I love this ultrabook.

What part number did you use for the RAM... want to make sure I buy something that is compatible with the onboard.

There's only one slot - it's all or nothing. I used G.Skill's F3-1866C11S-8GRSL part number, but any PC3L-14900 (1866mhz) should be fine.

This is a tempting upgrade from my Asus T100. I'm looking for more power and higher-res IPS screen for photo-editing in Adobe LightRoom while on the go (so battery-life and portability matters). Would you think this is a good fit? Ideally I would like even higher-res screen for RAW photos editing. TIA.

do the new zenbooks with 4th gen processors come in a "zenbook prime" line anymore?

Note the keyboard on these ain't so hot. By the time you factor in an actual SSD and more ram you're looking at $800. If a good keyboard is important to you - the MS Store Dell XPS 13 deal might be more up your alley.

That said - this laptop has "dat design" and at least the ssd/ram are upgradable.

Almost bought it when it was this price on Woot last week. Ended up going with a Dell E7240 from Outlet because Outlet New / i5 / 8gb / 128gb ssd / 1920x1080 / 3 year business warranty for $750 out the door.
